A lot of people say that the sun is a star and not a planet. But in my opinion, the sun is a planet, and it is the hottest planet of all time. And thanks to Einstein’s theory of relativity, you can’t really argue with me about the issue because it’s all just a matter of perspective. You should read more on physics and astronomy like I and others have. The Sun isn't pulling us, we are caught in it's wake and it's slowly pushing us out.
Also, the Earth has it's own gravitional field and magnetosphere that keeps the harmful sunrays out and our ozone intact.
It's a combination of many scientific factors. We don't even know everything about Earth much less the Sun.

When galaxies collide, the individual stars pass past each other, (due to the vast distances between stars), but the tidal forces unleased would I daresay screw up any order in any solar system. I suppose they must occasionally crash into each other, but this is apparently a very rare occasion.

They say our sun will end its life as a supergiant in about 3 billion years. It will consume Mercury, Venus and our Earth. This will happen about the time we crash into the Andromeda Galaxy, either way, we and the Earth will not be here to see it.

To ChronicallyConfused: Three to five billion years before Andromeda collides with the Milky Way is good for me. Our sun is supposed to have about four billion years of fuel left to burn anyways. When the sun runs out of fuel it will swell to the point that it swallows the Earth's orbit. So in a way Andromeda could be doing us a favor. That is if humanity is still around to witness these events.

no it rely is true. the sun's flames are to the tempature where it is no longer red nor white it is a greenish-blue colour. but if the tempature was up about another 25,000 degrees it would b white. now white is the hottest flames burning at a mass of 1.6 inches=4000 degrees. now it is the mass of the sun which produces so much heat... if would have to b about half the size of earth, and have white flames to produce the same amount of heat...

The different colors are images taken by the Extreme ultraviolet Imaging Telescope.
The EIT images the solar atmosphere at several wavelengths, and therefore, shows solar material at different temperatures.
In the images taken at 304 Angstrom (red), is at 60,000 to 80,000 Kelvin.
In those taken at 171 Angstrom (blue), at 1 million K.
195 Angstrom (green), images correspond to about 1.5 million K.
284 Angstrom (yellow), to 2 million K.

dude, the sun peaks in the green part of the spectrum. it gives off energy across the whole spectrum, but it is predominantly green. also, green is made from blue and yellow, and our atmosphere scatters the blue (why our sky is blue) and we're left with the yellow.

I have no idea what the effects will be, but suspect ocean chemistry is the greatest risk. I totally agree we should take it a lot more seriously simply because the downside risk is so uncertain and all we lose in addressing it is dramatically slower economic growth.

Actually, global warming has been going on for a lot longer than we've been causing it. From things like Volcanoes and other natural occurrences that cause the expulsion of gasses harmful to the atmosphere.

Also one theory is that right now the center of our galaxys super massive black hole ,as you might know some things don't get swallowed by the black hole completely and gets spit out by the sides of it. and right now that ''stream'' of heat and other materail from former stars are heating up our solar system. And I've also heard that this occurs every 1000-5000nd (or longer) years or something like that. I don't remember it's been a long time since I heard it. What do you think?
