Don't believe any of this propaganda. Half of the buildings downtown are empty. The College Football Hall of Fame is a white elephant and the city can't unload the building for two million dollars because no investor will touch it.
i LOVE south bend, great food (fiddlers hearth, macris, brunos to name a few), great cafes, i like the river walk and century center, wonderful shows, and usually something to do every weekend. plus its a great location 2 hrs to the west is chicago, two ours south is indy, 45 minutes east is amish country, 45 minutes north is harbor country. whats not to love? sure it has its problems, with drugs, gangs and shootings...but its usually dirt bags shooting other dirt bags.

I'm a student in southern Illinois and I'm researching colleges in Indiana I figured the comments would show me the opinion of the people but it looks like your all divided on the matter. If that is your opinion pc3057 you need to find an alcoholic treatment program. The problem lies with you not with our fair city! Or perhaps move to another "city" in the state of Indiana for a while, I did and came running back home! The South Bend area is wonderful place to live and proud to call it my home! To be blunt if you don't like it get out!
