  • CONTINUE THIS!!!

  • Aw man, why'd you stop this?

  • The only way your Shadow insertions could have been more epic, is if you had an even MORE annoyed/eye-rolling pic after, "he was partnered with Sir Kicks-a-lot." :P

  • Those last scenes were from #51. That was one trippy issue, a definite favorite of mine.

  • how long until u continue

  • Yo man, when are u gonna finish the entire retrospective???

  • Awesome! I think you should do more.

  • An archive of Sonic Comics, eh?

I'd certainly be interested in this. It'd be near the top "Things I must buy in my lifetime", bested only by the entire collection of Calvin and Hobbes comics.

  • EL POTTO GRANDE!!!

    (Thats what you said, right?)

  • The "Sally is a duplicate spy" story idea sounds intriguing. Any explanation for exactly why it was dropped?

  • SEGA mandate, believe it or not. Sally was - and is - the most popular/recognized non-SEGA character in the franchise. At the time, they were interested in testing her marketability and wanted her to live on. I'll go into more detail when I (eventually) get to the Sally mini-series.

  • Interesting...

    Looking forward to that.

  • Goddamn Shadow is Scary...

  • The Wizard's name is Nagus!

  • Much better voice volume this time around. And great vid again. Looking forward to future installments, mister Grande.

  • That pocket dimension thing seems like something done by Grant Morrison.

  • very, VERY happy to have the honor of hearing audio reviews from the Potto himself. Dont ever stop!

  • I love the running gag of Shadow's angry expression. If you want, you can use that in future installments, too.

This era was one I remember fondly, and I loved the Mecha Madness storyline, especially on account of Spaz's killer artwork. I also recall being sad when Sally was "killed", but relieved when she was brought back to life. I bet the comic would've been a heck of a lot different if the original plan to have Sally stay dead would've stuck.

I am excited to see the World Tour era next!

  • Another great review. Now I have to imagine what would've happened if the robot Sally plot hadn't gotten scrapped.

  • It's interesting seeing how the story planned out and went it's own away from the games where the Fleetway comics tried to stay as close to the cannon as possible.

  • Nice recap as usual. It was a bit funnier this time actually. Funny how you kept inserting the Shadow angry face. I laughed when you made the sound effect for the bonus at the end. I also love how you have no shame. ;) Nice and informative overall, but a shame you omitted some details (like some things about/in the Tails mini series, and a couple other things), but it's understandable why you did in the end.
