@missionfarstar yes it is from the 60s recorded in Berlin... Kempff has a special way to express Beethoven pieces, he has recorded the Beethoven Sonata cycle twice in his career, nobody knew the sonatas as well as he did! The 32 sonatas played by Kempff was my first ever CD collection! :)
Outstanding for his first ever piece! I was expecting a piano sonata in C major but he conjures up complex rythms and modulations. Way better than some of Mozart's first ever pieces.
Hardly his first piece ever. The Opus 1 Trios were his first published works, coming at the age of 23. Mozart was churning stuff out by the age of six. It just took Beethoven a little longer to get his act together!
Mr Franck Vincent ZAPPA diceva : "Does humor belongs to music** ?" ;-o) . Ma certo e sicuuuro ☛ HERE in this FANTASTICO TRIO ! hu...Was ist dasss!?!.... :(( ♨
**Watch that film; NO...unfortunatly William KEMPFF
doesn't play in it, peccato hmm...!?) -Hoyia Ô Bonaaanza !!! 0⬆0 Txs- ♍ ✔ince. Enzo De Caxate di Castelnovo ♔
A s(w)inging&heavy lesson ! Typical german spirit syntaxis : they just began to speak - but still have finished ♬...!? And italian translation is definitivly +hilaring+. What an awesome but amazing trio out of time. I agree W.Kempff has a totally angelic and entertaining smile ! How old is Herr Maestro on this track ?! Kempff is a Great pianist, but a big comic too...!!! (L. De Funes german twin brother ?). That's HUGE. Did he try ecstazy, yet ? :-))
I'm new to Classical music, but Beethoven overwhelmed me right away, as soon as I started listening to his music. I have to hear everything he's writen.
Wow! This is beautiful! I love the way they play - with skill and love. <3 <3
thank you so much for uploading this wonderful work! may i make an interesting point though:
part 1 views: 10,838
part 2 6,910
part 3 5,703
what can we infer from the above? the short attention span of your average youtube viewer. it's a trend I have often noticed with other classical music videos if they have more than one part...hehe
Thank you for posting this. Kempff and Szeryng are two of my favourite musicians. I love the performance and the pep-talk. An inside look at the communication of chamber musicians [great musicians in their own right also]. very interesting!
sweet : )

Wilhelm Kempff.... solo un genio come lui può far notare che il suono deve essere più leggero, come al tempo del grande Ludwig Van Beethoven.

The sensibility of W. Kempff for Chambermusic is really amazing the opend the extra dimension for his two collegs here ,wich is needed for Beethoven.

zu Beethovens Zeit .... sein Flügel, der hatte ja kaum ein Volumen
was meint er damit?
kwastormayt 4 years ago
Die Flügeln hatten dünnere Saiten, kleineren Resonanzboden, waren teilweise nur einfach besaitet (heute bis zu dreifach).
Kempff ist wie immer wundervoll...
