I think they have that order because of tradition. In the Jordan-Pippen-Rodman era, it went SF, PF, C, PG, SG, you had Pippen, Rodman, Longley, Harper, Jordan. The second best player was first and the best was saved for last. Now with Rose, they switched the order of the guards (SG, PG) so that Rose is last. The C has always been "The Man in the Middle," so they aren't going to change his spot in the order. They've switched SF and PF, and PG and SG, but they will always keep F, F, C, G, G.
