I did hear one mistake towards the end but you played thru it which is what a good musician does. And you seemed to lose the tempo a bit on the bass rundown at the end. But all in all, a good job on a difficult piece. if you want a challenge, try Embryonic Journey by Jorma Kaukonen or some of Leo Kottke's stuff. For an impossible challenge, try "The Clap."
If your not planning on becoming a serious classical guitarist then theres no need to grow your fingernails, besides this piece was originally recorded on a steel string acoustic and not a classical/spanish "catgut" stringed guitar. nails or no nails you'd never get the same tone and resonance on a traditional classical guitar you can hear it when she hits the harmonics thats a good ol' pickin' and grinnin' type guitar she is using and If some one can prove me wrong I'll eat my shorts,,,

it's not possible to play this song the way it was recorded without using your fingers. I would say fingerpicking is more a skill rather than a style. but if one were to play Everything with their fingers, like John Scofield, then that would be style. It's a skill worth learning, and it's really not that hard to get used to, just takes a little time.
long nails helps brighten up your sound, and it's easier to play. you can definitely do it very well without them though. I just cut mine off cause they were annoying me.
@OrgodemirDQ7 Try playing simple stuff first, like "My Name is Jonas" by Weezer. It's actually played with a pick, but it works perfectly when fingerpicked, and it's a really good way to get the right flow going. try to work on songs that have a repetitive riff, and find patterns; each finger should be taking care of a string, or maybe a couple. For songs like My Name is Jonas, it should flow in a kind of circular way. sorry, that's all I can really say without showing you.
@OrgodemirDQ7 Hey man, if you can get a fingerpik called "aLaska piks" they are amazing. They are a little costly, but they last a long time, and are the best piks i have ever used.
@OrgodemirDQ7 Try keeping ur first finger on the third string,ur second finger on thesecond string, ur third finger on the first string ..and use ur thumb to play the last three strings ...oh and dont bend ur thumb when u pick the bassy strings try to keep it straight...well i hope this helps..=)

Tight work. Hard to tell from your lesson that you can actually play the cover that fluently. honestly its one of the best i've heard on YT. thanks. ya I just taught myself, started off with easy songs like "My Name Is Jonas" and such. It's actually not that hard really, you just need to think logically and make sure you are using all your fingers efficiently. Don't get stuck into the habit of only using one finger. It's kind of like learning alternate picking for the first time.

Nah you're fine. Probably one of the more accurate versions I've seen on YouTube. And I've checked out a ton of them.
One thing they all have in common is that they are all rushed...tempo way too fast. Maybe the finger picking does it to ya naturally.
Do this one again, but slow it down and you'll have it locked.

Tight work. Hard to tell from your lesson that you can actually play the cover that fluently. honestly its one of the best i've heard on YT. And you've got a point about using more than one finger, its a great skill to have for guitar. Like alternate picking, it starts off tricky, but worth it. Now that we know you can rip it good, We bow to your lessons. Lol

dude that was excellent. ur a god. ive always wanted to learn how to finger pick acoustically, did u learn somewhere specifically or did u just teach urself?

thanks. ya I just taught myself, started off with easy songs like "My Name Is Jonas" and such. It's actually not that hard really, you just need to think logically and make sure you are using all your fingers efficiently. Don't get stuck into the habit of only using one finger. It's kind of like learning alternate picking for the first time.

it was posted 7 months ago dude, but ya i can play it pretty dang good now. i've been planning to do a video lesson for this but i don't have any time. soon, hopefully by the end of this month i'll get it up. thanks for all the comments guys!
