They should restructure their 'marching band' into several smaller bands of no more than 40 musicians.

This would also fix the bad proportions of instruments.

Just my opinion. :/

They are way ahead of you. I'm a 199 grad of this band. They have a unit called the 1st Company comprised of 45 musicians. They march in the exact formation of the Coldstream Guards Band. Their sound is much more crisp and cleaner.

We do have a smaller band for our better musicians called "first company". However, for the Tournament of Roses Parade we were one of the smaller bands.
