NICE! DD and BG are the two places where I did my checkout dives back in December 2009. We also went snorkeling with manatees during that trip. Diving is EXTREMELY addictive!! Check out my dive videos if you get a chance! =)
Hey! I saw a few of your videos and they are incredible! I definitely want to take that shark dive. :) I am from Atlanta, so I don't think it would be that long of a drive. I saw you had some videos from the GA aquarium. I checked into diving there, but it's around $300. Might be worth a try once, I mean, where else can you dive with whale sharks and hammerheads? I am really impressed by your videos though. :)
@DRCited Really glad you liked my videos! :-) Yeah, the GA aquarium dive is slightly overpriced but definitely well worth it... You definitely should make your way out to NC at some point to dive with Olympus Dive Center. They wreck diving there is fantastic. Every time we go down there we stay in the dive lodge. It's nothing special but its only 25 a night...Only thing with diving in the Atlantic though, is that conditions are hit or miss. We've had several dives cancelled on us there
i had no idea you lived in tampa. i was living there from october-march for work. if i would have known i would have bought you a beer for making some of my favorite videos on youtube.
Hey :) I appreciate the offer. I actually live in Atlanta, but I have a family home close to Tampa that I visit a couple times a year. I am glad you like the videos!
You've motivated my girlfriend and I to get certified at my University.
Thanks :]
Your channels are among my favorites by the way. Whenever you come out with a new video I always make a nice breakfast with coffee and make a small routine out of it.
It's only gotten better since I've gotten inspired to incorporate more ways to be active and explore :]
That's great! I am happy I could inspire you to get certified. Diving is an amazing experience, I am sure it will become your new obsession, as it is mine, haha. I am glad you enjoy my videos so much. :) I wish I could make them more often but free time is limited right now. By the way, I checked out your videos. You brew beer? I brewed once back in college and have been meaning to do it again. I would love to try making a hefeweizen. :)
Very cool video, but I have to say that open water creeps me out. Even watching shows about underwater events make me uneasy. I grew up in Florida and have been to the beach more times than I can remember. I am not afraid of swimming or anything like that, but the idea of leaving the surface just is not for me. I have been to 'Ponce De Leon' and it was fun but I was not about to dive further than a couple feet and I was about 30 yrs old at the time. I'm more comfortable if I can see the bottom.
@Schneboll Creepy. I skimmed about 5 sec of it. I'm not terrified, just uneasy. My mom's dad drown when she was 7. His death was the reason her baby sister and she were moved from one family to the next. I think she was fearful of losing her children the same way she did her dad. So she put the fear of water into her children's minds as well the fear of hell. I've out grown god. But unlike god water is to be respected. This is what I tell my children. She still has nightmares about drowning.
@johncrab67 I feel somewhat uneasy diving into the deep black, dark unknown too. I feel it also when I watch that video link I sent you. Although reason tells me there is not much down there that can hurt me, or is more afraid of me than I am of it in any case. The challenge should be exciting to accept. You only live once, right :)
Holy shit! That is by far the most intense freediving video I have ever seen. Thanks so much for that link!!! The human body can endure so much, its is truly amazing to see people achieve such extreme levels of physical endurance.
@DRCited In the Description of the uQITWbAaDx0 video it says clearly that it is FICTION.
Now I'm not sure exactly in what respect they mean that but I would make a guess that it means he did not actually make that dive all the way to the bottom?
Hey. :) Yeah, scuba is not for everyone. I absolutely loved it the first time I went and I tried to get my whole family involved. Both my mother and brother are certified, but they couldnt handle being under. My mother was freaking out the entire time she was down there, so she no longer has the desire to dive. I think of the ocean as a giant playground. I have thousands of photos and would often go on solo night dives. Maybe I'm a little crazy, but I am always safe. :)
Nice! A while back my school, MTSU, went to all three plus snorkeling with manatees as well as a night dive in DD. I miss it so much!
