Wow! I impressed with all four artists. Nowadays, the guitar and/or voice is prerecorded, and you don't see male and females dancing together anymore. Its always the one dancer, or a whole troupe. Much, less dancing with the castanetas! BRAVO! thanks for uploading!
@CalifJam2 it will be abroad...in Spain you´ve got singers and players accompaning. Otherwise you can´t call it flamenco. Because there´re so many details you can only make performing in a no prerecorded way. The point is sthat the quality of the people accompaning is not so high a sit used to be at that time.
I really love the way these four artists fit together. It's like you see the individuality even of the singer, the guitarist, the two dancers but yet they function as one smooth unit. A perfect combination.
I'm 60- I've seen many Flamenco shows here in Boston over the years - but absolutely NONE to compare with this Seguiriyas!!! I can't even begin to explain how my Soul was FED by this video!!!!
I agree. There are so many dancers that focus more on the zapatillo, and this dance with these particular dancers just give Flamenco another lovely facet with the ebb and flow, the softer and slower movements. A very exquisite interpretation. I like the way they dance, very different.
I agree with you also. And that's a good point. Sometimes it's easy to forget until we go back and see old movies where a lot of the "new" ideas are coming from. I love his style, very different. An individual's pellisco radiates when in the midst of a beautiful dance like this. She is wonderful too and a very worthy dance partner. The contrast of the two is beautiful.
Además de elegancia y talento artístico, aportó un toque de virilidad al baile masculino flamenco. Un deleite para los sentidos poder recrear estas actuaciones. Gracias. a quien la subió.
That is exactly why I love and perform Flamenco. I am fortunate and have a wonderful teacher who knows a lot of the best dancers in the world and is a great dancer herself. These two had something very different and they are both terrific dancers. I really love this video and watch nearly every day for inspiration. Too bad there aren't more dancers like them.
interesting... i dance flamenco.. i havent been taught but i do what i feel.. im curious ... what makes a good dancer or what can i do to to start dancing properly???? any suggestions??
It seems to me, Flamenco has an intense element to it, where you bring it to the floor. I took Flamenco lessons, and I can be an intense person, but, alas i probably do better being a speculator. Though I lOVE IT!
Amazing representation of the relationship between man and woman!

This is not the beginning of modern flamenco-this is the development of the flamenco of old as renovated by La Argentinita.

You can see the beginning of modern flamenco in this piece, and how Gades influenced a whole generation of dancers...
