One of the best martial arts films I've seen, she has such inner strength ... alot of problems with her family accepting the person who she is becoming ... she perseveres ... great
This is a great danish film, and you should see it if love Martial Ats (like me). The master Semra has, is really a great master, and has been instructing many succesfuls Martial Arts films in china. I have watched the movie many times, and I still love it.
It's not like Karate Kid, fighting an enemy. It's about fighting your inner deamons, finding your inner strength and in the end friendship through martial arts.
I recommend this movie to all so please... WATCH IT!!!!!
Like a lot of people here I saw this on the Sundance channel too. This movie really just pulled me right in from the get-go. Excellent acting and gripping story. Really glad I happened to catch it!
I saw this on the Sundance channel and thought the movie was brilliant. It is somewhat like Bend it Like Beckham but the drama is more intense. Semra Turan did a wonderful job acting, I barely needed the english subtitles to understand the movie. Her face portrayed everthing.
I try to respect everyone's culture but it is unfortunate that women in many parts of the world still cannot pursue the same activities and sports that men can.
I saw it on Sundance! Loved it! Realistic story of cultural assimilation and cultural clashes. you really feel Aicha's loneliness in her dilemna. No friend or relative can easily understand what she's going through.
It´s kind off a new version of the German: Yasemin :) But pretty cool. I like this movie. I really do. And I can recomend it. The only problem is, that I can´t find it on the internet. I´ve only seen it on television a few weeks ago.. Write, if you know where to watch it :)

Movies like these are the reason why martial arts is a part of my life. If I had four hands it would be four thumbs up. Guess two'll do fine.

I just watched this movie yesterday sitting next to Semra Turan her self (yaaay)
Movie is a good one, probably not very good for those looking for some matrix-like fighting moves
Its about a 2nd generation turkish living in a conservative family in denmark and is obsessed with her KungFu practise
Plot starts when she decides to join a mixed advanced KungFu school and her father oppses that so she decides to do it on his back.
Smiliar to "Bend It Like Beckham", much better though.
