The Formula Renault 2.0 are great and modern cars. Yes I think so and it's under 4 sec 0-60 mph.
I didn't have to import it as they ran in the North America under FranAM 2000 and then later in the Formula TR Pro Series until 2007. I purchased it the when the series went bankrupt and the teams were selling their cars to South America, China and Canada. Mine was 1 of 2 in the USA with the 2007 body kit upgrade.
The Swift 016A is quicker, but will require more maintenance and engine rebuilds.
How do you like driving the FR2.0? How difficult was it to import? Does it really do 0-100mph in 5 seconds? I do a bit of karting + track days with a Boxster S and am looking to buy a proper track car, like a FR2.0 or Pro Formula Mazda (not as pretty as the FR) or Swift 016a (probably too fast) - any thoughts?
