This is definitely the best ending for me. I love how Georg just walks up to Frey and hugs him, that's just so, idk, moving. Also it's so sweet how he walks on his own out in the Mountains. Awww.
I don't know about you people but if i was the hero and i lost my best friend and took her rune i be pretty upset to. I mean Lyon was with him since the beginning and she dies. That's pretty sad.
I agree, Lyon was my favorite character and I would not have been happy to play through the game for 40 hours to see that ending.
On another note I have to admit that this ending was very well done and in a tragic sense would certainly be one of the best I've ever seen in a game, emotion wise it easily trumps the bad endings of Suikoden 1 and 2.
The creators make it very obvious that if you recieve this ending you royal screwed up.
The ending without lyon and the prince travels with georg is the 2nd best for me. In a way its kinda cute and he has the power of the 2 runes. Yippie for frey. I acutally love lyon. But its kinda nice to give a somewhat tragic ending for him. This ending is sad. I actually love that the prince has silver hair and has a feminine look though when I first bought the game, I thought he was a girl.
i only played the game through once with all 108 stars so never saw this ending. but the part where the good/bad ending dissects I was like "WTFFFF, you're killing off lyon again!?!" and then the good ending revives her. I would've blown up the continent in place of the prince if lyon died.
I got this one the first time.. The part where Frey turns around with the two runes is very badass, but now that I finally got the good ending I realise how much more satisfying that is.
Despite the fact that this is a bad ending, I think this is probably one of my favourite endings in this game, because it just has so much emotional impact.
The look of grief and despair as the Prince holds his hands up to show both runes and the implications behind that, and that scene at the end where he wanders the stark icy snowlands alone... my heart weeps. i_i

...Overall this game has 6 bad ending incliding having 60 and below SoD...but thats not true...theres actually 1 more bad ending in this game..,and the ending is just like after losing to Gizel where they show the Game Over title,right there and then..,it`s a little hard to get this or not..,coz it`s what you call it...a hidden bad ending..,all you need to do is when fighting Dolph for the last time..,let Lyon lose and the prince will step in Lyon`s place,lose the fight and thats it....enjoy....

@yaku3 I don`t mind having Luserina all the time....coz she knows when to give the prince his space....and the fact that Lyon always follows you around all the time is even more annoying as she will fill up 1 block of your party screen.....,that means you`ll have 1 block short...,if you can remove Lyon at any time that`ll make her 1 less annoying than she is now.....but you can`t....plus the fact that she`s trying to be like Gremio and Nanami at the same time....

@yaku3 It`s true that Lyon is strong in Physical attacks but her magic with the Twilight rune is ultimately dissapointing....,you`ll soon see why.....,and if you think that mechant is hard to recruit wait till you recruit Zegai,Bastian,and other missable characters.....espacially the 2nd final character at something Fortress.....
@KeeveSuikoden2Hero well i have recruited all and the most anoying is the trade guy and the hardest was the weird mage that said her name in every sentance where jeane was recruited..... though i think the true runes in suikoden 4 and 5 was weaker then the first 3..... though i like the party i currently use..... tiger formation: Galleon, Lyon, Prince, Jeane, Zerease, Cathiri. and im now on the ice ruins before final boss.
@yaku3 Ice ruins....yes...,is this place where you`ll see how week the Twilight Rune can be againts 1 boss before the final....,I went through hell and back again just to beat it....all because at this point her body grows week no metter how high her lvl is...,and I suggest u use 3 tactics 1st the Sorcerer`s or something tactic and put.....
@yaku3 Lyon in the middle then switch to illusion or something tactic to give boost of all stats and heal if u can...,then switc to true men tactic which I only remember...,and bash its ``another word for donkey``...,and switch back to illusion to heal and repeat the same steps...,if u have enough healing items or magic you`ll live but if u don`t well.....

@alantrik Luserina wins againts all the girls in Suikoden 5....to me at least...,so it`s no surprise that she wins by default....?......but I like Luserina better....she`s just how do I put it....,the blooming flower of this game...,and her Moral support gives you +5 ATK in war battles....,which is better than Lyon`s 1 charge or Miakis`s 1 Recovery support....,and I always choose nice words when it comes to responding with her...Lyon`s just annoying...to me at least...
This game has EPIC written all over it. I think the Suikoden games have some of the best storyline out of all RPG's I've ever played...and I've played a lot of RPGs.
dude, when i played it i never finished the game, but i think on my thrid play through i finished the game and got all the SoD's to boot, so i never saw this, but still, even in the good ending, Lyon died and i wass like wth ? thats really random ! and then she came back to life (again i was like okayyyy... ?) i liked the ending where you choose not to go with george and the prince and lyon serve as capain of the queens knights and it implies theyre together xD, poor george though he seemed sad.
I loved this ending tbh. I mean, sure, I liked Lyon a lot but that's precisely what makes it a good ending. Her death along with the prince being stuck with both runes and I'd assume no real sense of direction. The rest of Falena would probably go back to normal but he's pretty much destroyed judging by how he just wanders off.
Mmmm... I wonder what's the hero gonna do before Georg hugged him? Was he trying to use the Sun Rune to destroy everything and also himself just like Lordlake?

Well, Lyon uses the Twilight Rune. When the rune "betrays" Sialeeds, it goes to Lyon, since she is friendly to the Prince. But since Lyon isn't a royal, she pays the price.
you'll see that after he went away from falena he went to help on the war between jowston or something like that place came from s2 while the chef's daughter in s5 was married to hai yo , he came from s2 .... for me it's like the story of s5 happened while there was war on s2 ....i just love the way they connect all the characters throughout the whole series of suikoden!!! suikoden started my love for rpg !!!and the first game who made me cry!!!
Good thing I know from playing the first four that something crappy always happens when you don't get all 108.
From what I've heard - and this is completely hypothetical - if this ending had been canon, it would have set up Freyjadour (God, I'm so happy they let the player pick out a name for the character because their names as a whole normally suck) to turn to despair and hate the rune's power. If anybody's played through Suikoden I-III, you'll know what happened to Luc.
Apparently you havent because there's a world of difference between Luc and The Prince. Luc didn't hate the rune's power. He hated that he was created to be a host of the rune and then think about how the rune's dictate everything in the world. Luc can almost be looked at like the hero in a way in Suikoden III....But that's what Suikoden do...there's no real evil. Just different perspectives...Luca Blight aside.
Well...if you really want to look at it closely...Suikoden V was somewhat of a Suikoden II rehash. Childerich = Luca Blight Lyon = Nanami(even tho she was more annoying ala Gremio) Sialeeds = Jowy Alenia/Zahhak = Culgan/Seed Belcoot = Flik Dolph = Lucia Dilber Novum = Han Cunningham(really more Aine Gide tho...as he died the same way those 2 did) Roog/Rahal = Camus/Miklotov Nick = Futch There was a ton of similarities...but I still think V was fantastic.

Umm.. this isn't -60 stars ending.. this is -60 recruits ending... it's different.
I get 70+ stars, yet i got this ending, after i've done some research, i found out that it takes you 60 manual recruits (that is not automatically recruited) for you not to get this ending.
I'm not sure... don't think so, I can't find it... it's basically the same as this one though with the difference that the prince doesn't walk around all emo in the glacier =P I think he follows Georg on his travels north... like you can chose to do in the best ending.
You even get this ending when you have only 107 stars (lost zegai to battle at lelcar). I was glad that I could replay the game in the second story mode, I hated this ending...
1 AND 5 are the best in my opinion. this one is good... but it takes awhile to get started. the only thing it really lacks is a good challenge. the "big hole" quest to get eresh comes close to a good challenge, if you do it at a low enough level...but other than that the game is pretty easy.

The Sun rune itself is 1 True Rune. Dawn and twilight are actually child rune of the Night Rune(True Rune)when the night rune turn into a sword(Star Dragon Sword). That why the Sune rune need the dawn and twilight to calm down. AND, it does not really make a diff whther or not, dawn and twilight are child rune of the night rune or sun rune. .
No info on Suiko 6 yet. However Konami have admitted that they are working on a next generation (Or current = PS3/Wii/360) RPG title. Indications and rumours = Suikoden.

@alantrik Luserina wins againts all the girls in Suikoden 5....to me at least...,so it`s no surprise that she wins by default....?......but I like Luserina better....she`s just how do I put it....,the blooming flower of this game...,and her Moral support gives you +5 ATK in war battles....,which is better than Lyon`s 1 charge or Miakis`s 1 Recovery support....,and I always choose nice words when it comes to responding with her...Lyon`s just annoying...to me at least...

This game has EPIC written all over it. I think the Suikoden games have some of the best storyline out of all RPG's I've ever played...and I've played a lot of RPGs.

dude, when i played it i never finished the game, but i think on my thrid play through i finished the game and got all the SoD's to boot, so i never saw this, but still, even in the good ending, Lyon died and i wass like wth ? thats really random ! and then she came back to life (again i was like okayyyy... ?) i liked the ending where you choose not to go with george and the prince and lyon serve as capain of the queens knights and it implies theyre together xD, poor george though he seemed sad.

I loved this ending tbh. I mean, sure, I liked Lyon a lot but that's precisely what makes it a good ending. Her death along with the prince being stuck with both runes and I'd assume no real sense of direction. The rest of Falena would probably go back to normal but he's pretty much destroyed judging by how he just wanders off.

The best ending where Lyon is saved by Sun Rune seems childish.

@Nihilive I thought she died because that assassin guy (who reminds me of Vega from street fighter) stabbed her before the last battle. She was hurt but she kept going, but I guess the blood loss caught up to her.

Watch the scene, Sialeeds clearly says " Hmph... It abandoned me" and then "You don't have time to waste here... with a traitor."
The rune betrayed her for using it against the royal family. Her words tell you this. Why else, would the Rune abandon her?

The Queen doesn't die from the Sun Rune. Some one kills her....
Sialeeds is a bit different, the rune betrays her for her actions. Both are explained in game. Play it again or youtube it.

Well, Lyon uses the Twilight Rune. When the rune "betrays" Sialeeds, it goes to Lyon, since she is friendly to the Prince. But since Lyon isn't a royal, she pays the price.

try reading in wiki about george prime...
you'll see that after he went away from falena he went to help on the war between jowston or something like that place came from s2 while the chef's daughter in s5 was married to hai yo , he came from s2 .... for me it's like the story of s5 happened while there was war on s2 ....i just love the way they connect all the characters throughout the whole series of suikoden!!! suikoden started my love for rpg !!!and the first game who made me cry!!!

Good thing I know from playing the first four that something crappy always happens when you don't get all 108.
From what I've heard - and this is completely hypothetical - if this ending had been canon, it would have set up Freyjadour (God, I'm so happy they let the player pick out a name for the character because their names as a whole normally suck) to turn to despair and hate the rune's power. If anybody's played through Suikoden I-III, you'll know what happened to Luc.

Apparently you havent because there's a world of difference between Luc and The Prince. Luc didn't hate the rune's power. He hated that he was created to be a host of the rune and then think about how the rune's dictate everything in the world. Luc can almost be looked at like the hero in a way in Suikoden III....But that's what Suikoden do...there's no real evil. Just different perspectives...Luca Blight aside.

Umm.. this isn't -60 stars ending.. this is -60 recruits ending... it's different.
I get 70+ stars, yet i got this ending, after i've done some research, i found out that it takes you 60 manual recruits (that is not automatically recruited) for you not to get this ending.

There are a few endings... 61-107 Stars gives you an second ending but only 108 Stars gives the best ending.

I'm not sure... don't think so, I can't find it... it's basically the same as this one though with the difference that the prince doesn't walk around all emo in the glacier =P I think he follows Georg on his travels north... like you can chose to do in the best ending.

Yeah, the only difference between this ending and that ending is that the Prince goes traveling with Georg (I still find that name weird o___o;)
In this ending, Freyjadour goes walking around in the icy mountains (forgot the name...)
I'm not sure what he was doing there, though... probably to be a hermit...
But maybe he decided to commit suicide?! Y'know, like jump off an icy cliff and then get stabbed by an icicle?!

You even get this ending when you have only 107 stars (lost zegai to battle at lelcar). I was glad that I could replay the game in the second story mode, I hated this ending...

1 AND 5 are the best in my opinion. this one is good... but it takes awhile to get started. the only thing it really lacks is a good challenge. the "big hole" quest to get eresh comes close to a good challenge, if you do it at a low enough level...but other than that the game is pretty easy.

had to go through the whole game twice to rescue lyon...
on first playthrough i didnt care about getting all stars... till i knew lyon would die if you didnt. didnt feel good.
a year later played the second time with a recruiting guide and i got all of em and the good ending. chose to help lym.

Lyon should have died, just as I believe Gremio, Nanami, and Jowy should XD but Tenkais lost enough, but Riou getting a horrible ending is just so sweet xD

Dawn plus twilight does not make the Sun rune.
The Sun rune itself is 1 True Rune. Dawn and twilight are actually child rune of the Night Rune(True Rune)when the night rune turn into a sword(Star Dragon Sword). That why the Sune rune need the dawn and twilight to calm down. AND, it does not really make a diff whther or not, dawn and twilight are child rune of the night rune or sun rune. .
