  • Lmfao, everyone here knows when Alpha/Zero dropped, it wiped SNK out. Then when crossover deals with marvel...Capcom were making risky moves but they managed. Capcom lender SNK a hand with their crossover but it just wasn't enough. Garou MOW was the last & best SNK fighter.

  • Nice Upload.

  • 8:22 looks like Tekken 4's Parking Area stage

  • i don't really play much snk games, but after what capcom is doing in most of their anticipated releases. re-releasing games over and over. snk has the advantage over them now.

  • @Grungeaintdead101 even thou SNK have done same thing with Fatal Fury & KOF '98 and Arc System Works have exploited the crap out of revisions more than Capcom ever has (new BB:CS only has one new character? fuck that.)

  • metal slu anthology samurai showdown anthology and kof 11 are great i have them al

  • So the U.S is pretty much the center of video games even though they come from mostly japan. You fail here, then you won't succeed.

  • @dhay03 Amen brother. The TurboGrafx-16, Saturn, and AES all flopped in the US (while they were selling like hot cakes in Japan.)

  • I've heard that when the guards at Guantanamo get bored of torturing the inmates they bring them to an arcade and let them play SNK games

  • @CaptainCrunchityzer They needeed the blog guy because otherwise it would just be the snk dude lovin' their own selves.

  • I can't believe how bad the production for this is...

  • Seeing this video brings back good memories, I got a bit teary eyed from happiness when I watched this documentary. Thanks for the upload :'-) I love SNK, now SNK Playmore. I love SNK games, especially the King of Fighters for KOF was always there for me. And Aruze how dare they "kill" SNK in 2000 :-( But then SNK was reborn as SNK playmore and all is good again. My message to SNK: Play on SNK...play on...and all your fans will play more. SNK forever!!

  • i miss the old g4..now it just fucken stoner tv

  • @CaptainCrunchityzer Exactly what I was thinking. That 1up guy sounds like the biggest douche bag of all time.

"Essentially knocked off Street Fighter to make their own games". If that isn't bullshit...

  • There was a programmer that worked on SF1 then joined SNK. So technically there wasn't any copying. Not to mention there were no fighting games on the Neo Geo until 33 games in. The Neo Geo had a good variety of games in the very beginning. Since everyone was making fighting games SNK followed suit. Plus the Neo Geo's sprite engine is perfect for fighting games. A lot of people compare Mark of the Wolves to SF3. To this day the Neo still has great games being made for it.

  • @SupremeJudge I know those 2 went to SNK, which is why that notion is bullshit. Not to mention that practically every SNK fighter was damn near different from Street Fighter in the first place.

And the neo geo was discontinued in 05, wasn't it?

  • @CaptainCrunchityzer Yeah. He just hates the early Neo Geo games. I am not a fan of the fighting games on the system, but I like all of the other games that came out on it, like Ninja Combat, Magician Lord, Shock Troopers, Metal Slug, Mutation Nation, Sengoku, Sengoku 2, Ninja Commando, Eight Man, Robo Army, and others.

  • Too bad maximum impact wasn't that great.

    Neither was SVC Chaos.

But heck KOF XI was pretty good and hopefully XIII will be amazing.

  • Cont. Final

But that's why I love both. They're great games that are easy to get into with the scene especially on GGPO. But and the end of the day neither game nor company is better. Just because SNK puts a more effort into their games then Capcom doesn't make it better. Same goes for Capcom and it's overrated popularity. So can we please stop this pointless flame wars and just get on with our lives? This is actually pretty sad from both fanbases. Grow up

  • @TyRiders2 ...i see wat u meant by that..but why hate the fans..everyone has their opinions..besides snk's fighting games such as kof..are ways more entertaining than capcoms such as street fighter...street fighter is very popular here in america..but not to be mean..st gamers arent all that talented because the game play is easy and boring...same thing in every game u know..i grew up playing that..but then it bored me...2 many hadukens..sonic booms..the characters were never all that unique

  • @TyRiders2 ......many characters are the same in a way..look at akuma..ryu..ken..sakura..dan...i hated that people say.."real fans know the difference"...yea there is but not that much man..but look at kof and their characters..snk puts so much effort in their games..the game play is great..the characters have a variaty of moves not like st characters like guile that have like four moves...they also look very cool...the backgounds look nice..the theme songs are badass..but u already know bro

  • @TyRiders2 ...and on top of that kof has many super awesome chain combos..it takes a lot of practice to perform man..trust me ive been playing for years and i bought so many snk games and still today they seem difficult at times...people have to admit that snk has better fighter games..but the problem is that people dont know much about snk..cuz all they hear is street fighter all the time..i asked many about kof and they never heared of them...but they did hear street fighter..i respect that..

  • @KnMdrive To be fair Street Fighter isn't the only popular thing in the states. We also have tekken and mortal kombat. But I see what your getting at. No ones ever heard of SNK or KOF in the states or in the UK come to think of it.

  • @TyRiders2 .....true bro..but if the game was know think of how popular it would become...

  • @TyRiders2 but wat i dont like is that sf fans always talk bad about kof..its nobodys fault that they cant play them.how can anyone hate them...when the stories are kool..orochis rule..geese and rugal are more original than bison and stuff.im a snk fan all the way..even in their current state...but u are free to deside which u like best bro..i just dont like hearing people talk bad about snk..when they dont really know the company..like i said snk is famous in asia europe and south america.

  • @KnMdrive To be fair Both SF and KOF are popular in Japan mainly because they were both made in Japan. I agree that Bashing KOF and calling it broken is retarded. I admit that KOF is a lot more frantic than street fighter but at the same time I see Street Fighter as a good way to start off before moving to KOF but that's just me.

  • @KnMdrive I love Street Fighter, SF2 was my favorite game for a long time. But I will admit, first time playing KOF 94 I fell in love with SNK.

  • Cont. Once more.

Most people hated the background jump for most of the Fatal Fury series. Most people used it to cheat sometimes. Fortunately Garou change all that. A lot of people I personally think that Garou: Mark of the wolves and Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike are almost identical in gameplay (waits for the flaming). There are some minor differences like TOP Mode and TOP attack in Garou and Super Arts in SF3. but take that out except just defence and parry and you have two identical games.

  • Cont. Again.

SNK's flaws were selling their Neo-Geo at an heavy price for starters. Their KOF series is great but there really any dramatic changes in between 94-2002 team battle. Most people never gravitated to having the exact same game each year. There were some changes like new movesets, altered costumes, Voice changes etc but the sprites remained the same until KOF XII. Their Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting series were great but most people despised the excessively difficult nature of AOF2.

  • Cont.

Other flaws for Capcom were that Shoto characters were almost always too good in each game and they never even thought of beefing up characters that much. Sure they changed the roster and put in well animated sprites to compete with AOF3 but they still overpowered the shotos. The only time shotos weren't good was Marvel vs Capcom. Plus Capcom stop making fighting game after CFE was huge flop. Mainly because the fighting game producer left. I suppose that was SNK's time to shine.

  • Whether the two companies being better is subjective. This is what I hate about both SNK and Capcom fanboys. SNK and Capcom are both great companies but they both had their major flaws as well. For starters Capcom never developed their Street Fighter Characters to make them more interesting or hardly changed any movesets for characters within the plot or to make them seem original. Ryu got maybe one or two new moves but never really got that much of an upgrade.

  • old school times were AWESOME XD a gamin invasion XD

  • I didn't know the NEO-GEO CD was out in the USA! After I heard about its bombing over here, it's no wonder I never knew that, nor did I hear of it as a kid.

On the other hand, I did know about the Neo-Geo Pocket and NGP Color. But, I didn't really have the money or enough interest in getting one of those. Still, I wish I could have gotten one after I got my Sega Dreamcast, since the two shared a connectivity, much like GBA and Nintendo GameCube.

  • uhmm at 7:58 it shows mark of the wolves as part of SNK Playmore, and that's not true º^º it was made by SNK itself

  • renewal and keep them alive? where is mark of the wolves 2 dammit!!!???

  • its an SNK staple you see.Great graphics and sound. Cool characters and dialogue.then some Hard-ass gameplay

  • @prettymeanscowl yeah definitely agree with you

  • @prettymeanscowl We need to see more output from them on today's consoles, in addition to the downloadable games and compilations (like the ever-addictive Metal Slug Anthology!).

  • one friend out of my dozens who owned nes's had a neo geo. i also had one friend own a sega master system... lol.

  • Great video - I remember being one of the first to have the megadrive, imported from Japan. A year later Neo Geo came out and it was Arcade perfect BUT nobody could afford it. It was as simple as that. So many people wanted it though.

  • I still have my Neo Geo CD

  • samurai showdown was the shit it was hard but that's what made it worth it when you finally ended it

  • metal slug is teh best game evar!

  • I love Metal Slug :D

  • The problem is that you could get a better graphic game at home with ps3 or 360 than an actual arcade game or about the same. Arcade games in the 90's was a hit because the game looked so much better than a snes or genesis.....look at the fist Mortal Kombat...I had it for genesis and I still went to play it on the actual arcade unit because of the graphics. Arcades need to simply look better graphically to succeed like the old ways. Don't you agree? Think about it what arcade game is out right

  • would love to see snk make more new arcade titles and franchises. long live arcade games!

  • man i hope for a capcom vs snk 3 that's a revival i want lol

  • SNK must have felt this way at 2:35 when they failed. LOL.

  • with as much as the system and games cost it puts a new light on the PS3 original price tag

  • Hm, I have always wondered: What is Max 330 Mega Pro Gear Spec mean? I understand most carts go over 330 megs, but why?

  • @IvoryGecko1993 It's megabits not megabytes. A lot of people get those confused. Megabits is 8x bigger than megabytes. So for example an 800 megabit game would actually only be 100 megabytes in size. They did that to make it sound even bigger as a marketing angle.

  • @SupremeJudge 8bits=1 byte

  • @w1o5w6 That's what I said, well not that clear but if you do the math you would have easily gotten that tidbit. My example was an 800Mbit game would be 100Mb in size so that an 8:1 ratio. So I don't know why you tried to correct me.

  • @SupremeJudge oh now I saw what you had actually written,it's a little bit confusing the way you wrote it soz dude,I didn't do it to show off!!!sorry.

  • @w1o5w6 Ya, I know. I should have been more specific. Thanks for posting that though so for the people that didn't understand what I said, too...lol

  • @SupremeJudge It's because you wrote "Megabits is 8x bigger than megabytes." it should be "Megabits is 8x smaller than megabytes."

  • @IvoryGecko1993

330 mega was the max, and games go over that with the use of bank switching. Later carts greater than 330 in size show "giga power" on the splash screen instead.

  • SNK is a great company,my favirote video game company of all time.i think it was the Neo Geo that hurt SNK,not because it was a bad console, but because most people couldn't afford it at the time besides rich people mostly.SNK is a good company that makes good games, but even as a fan i will admit sometimes SNK's buisness sense is questionable, but there games are great, great company all around.i am always and forever a fan of SNK no matter what.

  • I have always and still believed ` of the other thing lead SNK to bankrupcy was how they forced themselves to make a new KOF EVERY year. Look at Capcom's SF3, 2nd impact and 3rd strike were literately the same game with improvements and last over a decade before releasing SF4. While KOF tries to make a new KOF every year with different gameplay features, people just can't stay at the title and get expert at it: "this time next year ull have to move on". Today only KOF still being play is 98 & 02

  • @foreverttw Nah, that wasn't the problem. Most of the KOF games used the same engine and source code so only new sprites had to be made. They made one every year since the storyline had a tournament every year. SNK's downfall was purely a hardware problem not software.

  • @SupremeJudge that and ofcourse price. i remember going into electronics boutique or babbages(old) and being like wow!!! both because of how awesome and expensive the original neo geo was. my kids have the psp snk collection ($17 for 16 snk games) and when i told them those games went for $200-300 each they're like no way. wouldn't mind having an original neo geo for collections sake though. very nice system.

  • it's funny how SNK's downfall is so similar to Sega's

  • @CaptainCrunchityzer Where did you find people claiming that exactly? Though the Neo Geo has shown better graphics later on in the years (where as capcom had to change systems just to do that) where did people say Neogeo was more powerful than 360?

  • @CaptainCrunchityzer Indeed. That David Smith guy irks me greatly."SNK had essentially knocked off Street Fighter to make their own games". Like what? If that AOF example was the channel's best evidence, they should've fired the editors of this show. Fuck i'm tired of AOF getting that "SF2 ripoff" bullshit. Plays nothing like SF2, looks nothing like SF2, hell AOF3 had better animation than SF3.

  • @Neofcon if anything all snk did was make ryo from ryu and ken but i didnt care about that i love both games and companies equally one thing i will say is the art of fighting series is that it's fun as hell but hard to beat sometimes

  • You know, this icons gig didn't go into a lot of detail. They just say "Hyper Neogeo 64 came out, BUT IT FAILS!". We get more detail out about NGCD and some slight details on NGPocket, but they just went brief and say "they failed, so fuck it".

You gotta love the sad and dramatic music after showing KOF97. Really can start the heart strings up.

Question. Lots of folks keep suggesting that SNK has no money right now. Whats that about? If you know, that is...

  • thanks for the upload

  • @TetheredherO Damn straight, Samurai Spirits was all I wanted to play when came back from school in my younger days. I liked the announcer saying "HATTORI HANZO" when I kicked ass in the arcade.

  • NGPC <3

  • samurai spirits owns XD

  • The Japanese chick said it best...SNK=HARDCORE

  • Honestly, I do not like the Neo Geo nor SNK. However, I have to admit it is far superior to the 16-bit systems in the 1990s. Its still their choice, not mine. Even if it did blow Sega and Nintendo out of water, I would have believed that Nintendo would make a comeback.

  • @AlexTeddy888 : The Neo-Geo AES shares many similar hardware parts with SNK arcade consoles. The hardware used for SNK arcade units are the same ones on the AES , thats why its "superior" and pricey. However , it did not age very well when the 3D games started to come out 3-4 years later.

  • Can someone tell me why the NEO-GEO AES out-performs every system today in 2D Graphics?

  • @modewr Because of the sprite engine. I don't think it outperforms all systems today. During it's time no similar bit system could touch it's sprite engine.

  • @SupremeJudge : But many Neo-Geo fanboys tell me that it is superior in rendering 2D games better than PS3,360, and Wii (which sounds ridiculous to me).Do you know where I can find any more on this subject? Thanks for the help!

By the way this is one of my favorite videos , i watch it all the time during lunch/dinner :)

  • @modewr There being fanboys both the 360, PS3 & Wii out perform Neo-Geo on a way higher level. Not only can both the 360,PS3 & Wii make 3D games but it have better tools to make 2D sprites than Neo-Geo.

The 360, PS3 & Wii are emulating Neo-Geo games, so much for Neo-Geo being more powerful eh?

Those fans just like the drawings of the old games. Today animations can be done better than the Neo-Geo as a matter of fact KOF 13 is not running on the Neo Geo.

They're making a ass of them self.

  • @Eddiepsp : Thank you for the detail you put into your answer! 10/10!

  • @modewr Bad news in China they hack I think it's called the Taito type don't remember. Long story short. Street Fighter 4 & KOF 12 & 13 running on a Emulator on a PC.

Nice going guys, all that bull shit of how SNK is better than etc. & let me play the game on a PC emu are not pay a dime for it.

The reason I say this is because the guys that you know chances are they play more KOF on a PC through a emu than buying it on PS2.

SNK is in danger of going dead again with these fools so called fans.

  • @Eddiepsp : Most chinese people can't afford a PS3 :)

  • @modewr you've gotta be shitting me.

  • @Neofcon : Yeah , i was wrong. Today's consoles make 2D polygons that are superior to 2D sprites.

  • @modewr Thats not what I meant. Eddie really had no details and simply said "they just do". Yes, the newer systems benefit from better technology, but so far, there hasn't truly been a 2D fighter (aside from KOF13 I think) that actually shows this I believe.

Besides, power of engines don't make it impossible to emulate, just harder to run. People suggest that CPS3 is powerful as hell, yet the only thing stopping it from being emulated was a chip burnout, not the power of the board itself.

  • @Neofcon : The thing was that back in the day , the Neo-Geo's AES sprite drawing capabilities were unmatched. Developers pushed the console more than initially thought possible , and this fact is probably why some Neo-Geo fans say that the AES is the best in 2D rendering. It was supported for 14 years for crying out loud!

  • @modewr

It doesnt out perform it system wise I dont think.

SNK is known just for pouring a shit ton of effort into 2D animation. It's not system specs, it's spriting talent.

  • capcom needs to buy snk fighting games, or buy the whole snk

  • They forgot to mention Neo-Geo CDZ.

  • Icons = Best fucking show ever who's idea it ever as to cancel the the show is a utter fucking idiot. I used to stay up for hours and watch Icons when they had a marathon of it back in the day, all I can say is bring it the fuck back.

  • they haven't really had the big arcade success that they had since SF II.

  • This show forgot to mention that SNK's fighting developers were the guys behind SF 1 and actually started development on FF 1 BEFORE SF II started development. Unfortunately, SNK released FF 1 later and have always been labeled clones, but that's not the case AT ALL! Also, AoF is SNK making fun of SF II since their team developed SF 1. Dan is a retaliation by Capcom for this. AoF introduced Super moves and power bars that Capcom stole from them. Capcom has never innovated anything and is why

  • @theshooter2000 Thats not true. While I abhor Shit Fighter Capcom did have special moves and the (fucked up) parry system. Outside of that, they had really shoddy "micro-management" systems where you fiddled around with "techniques" that cost a super bar to use, which was bullshit. Then again, AOF did that with single special attacks, making it very restrictive to play. AOF3 fixed that with the combo feature.

  • @Neofcon Special moves aren't an innovation by Capcom and the parry system is a goddamn joke. It doesn't even make sense. The whole point of having special moves was to prevent someone from blocking the whole fight. Now, you're gonna give them that ability back? WHY? The systems you speak of weren't very innovative either since they all originate w/the bar that SNK introduced. The last thing Capcom innovated was having a non martial artist for a boss and even HE is a ripoff of another character.

  • @theshooter2000 If Street Fighter wasn't the first game to have Special moves in fighters, then what was? And don't sit here and try to use the "it sucked" excuse. I know it sucked, but using that cop out is something I expect from sonic fans to invalidate a person's points, which I find immature. Innovative doesn't mean "good new feature". It means "new" period. The plane switching in Fatal Fury was innovative, but it sucked. Innovative, nonetheless.

  • Sonic the Hedgehog and the Sega Genesis hurt the Neo Geo as well.

  • The Neo Geo in all of its awesomeness killed itself by its high price. many people would have loved to have one of those babies, butjust couldn't afford it.

the Sega Genesis, and Super Nintendo, though not as powerful as the Neo Geo still offered great looking 16 bit games at a much much cheaper price, plus Sega had the mascot named Sonic the Hedgehog, that also helped killed off the Neo Geo.

  • @tom11zz884 Not only that, but there were a TON of FIGHTING GAMES, instead of branching out towards other game genres on the NEO-GEO. But nevertheless, it is an awesome system.

  • men the graffic owned the shit

  • they should make a documentary of the rise and downfall of g4techtv

  • have to LOVE the NEO GEO

    SNK #1

  • Too bad Sega didn't learn from Neo Geo's mistakes when they released the Saturn. Goes to show that you can't launch a home console with a ridiculously exaggerated price tag, no matter how powerful the console may be!

  • @Forzaabruzzo Are you sure? Look at the PS2 at its launch... Not to mention the PS3... But it's Sony 's money behind them.

  • @jbmaru

Keep in mind though that Sony did a great job at promoting the PS2 and PS3 prior to their respective launch dates. They went all out in building anticipation amongst consumers. Secondly, the PS2 had DVD playback, and the PS3 had Blu Ray playback respectively, which made the consoles that much more appealing, thus justify their higher launch prices.

  • SNK forever

  • SNK has truly lasted the test of time.

  • Thanks for the upload! I love programs like this!

  • @pcostel1 I wish G4 did an hour long episode for SNK as there is a lot of things left out.

  • METAL SLUG FOR THE FUCKING WIN!!!!

  • @edgarshere YEAH!!

  • They should do a new Metal Slug using an engine like Little Big Planet uses. I think a true "3-D" Metal Slug would suck but one based on a LBP "2-D" style with realistic physics and photorealistic textures would be great.

  • @Chuckjagermeister That WOULD be an awesome idea!

  • KOF XIII: The REAL Rebirth.

  • 00:48 best fighting game ever street fighter 2 ftw

  • Lol could you imagine getting 1 game per christmas cause they cost so much XD

  • People tend to diss SNK Playmore, but they have released a good handful of good games such as Metal Slug 6, Kof Maximum Impact 2 and KOF 2002 um.

  • @CrimsonMoonM I don't diss them. They are a great company, and it is a game company that is not very well known like CAPCOM and Nintendo, so that is why I like them.

  • Samurai Shodown,KOF 98,Last Blade,Fatal Fury Real Bout 2,and Metal slug are some of my favorite SNK games :D

  • AMEN! it would be kool to have a realy creative 2D format back with new characters and kool ones not goofy. HECK! bring back World Heroes with a dark spin-off or not necessarily dark but jus sirius. i think it would be kool.

  • SNK mistake was trust so much only in arcade-like games (fighting and shooting basically). They may rival with CAPCOM on fighting, but overal CAPCOM develops games in many styles. If capcom bet all their coins on arcade-like games only, as SNK did, probably today they would be "CAPCOM Playmore" too.

But overal I love SNK bastards, although they took many hours of my live with their games

  • @vitormlb "CAPCOM develops games in many styles" not many styles, only those that makes money. Check out Darkstalkers, it's awesome but didn't make so much money, SCRAPPED. Why do you think Cap make half a dozen SFII lameass sequels and make people BUY them back in 1990's? Cap makes games for money. SNK just makes what they feel like making (KOF SkyStage, DokiMajo, Twinkle Star Sprites). That's the difference between a rich company and an awesome one.

  • DOSMania1988, respect ur opinion. But U talk about Darkstalkers: they developed 2 sequences as far as I know, so they did not gave up without trying. But after 3rd fail, they were wise to "scrap", maybe someday they launch it with SFIV engine. And CAPCOM tried many genres, like sports, some adventure (Okami)racing...many unprofit stuff. So they use some of their money to try new things, they are not all that lazy. SNK tried much less, and failed even with some great games like SS RGP and others

  • that makes sense if the shoe was on the other foot i'm just saying what you said made total sense

  • @vitormlb SNK has developed RPG's as well. The problem was marketing.

  • you guys at SNK fuck up samurai shodown after 2....WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING!!!

  • @REDTEAM22003 Wha? SS IV is (marginally) awesomer than II, many people would agree with me.

  • i still hate ss v and yes IV was awesome

  • I'm fan of Snk, and just my opinion, hope that someday SNK (Now Playmore) recover their years of glory like before, I think they must work in games about their own characters that are still popular and stop creating new characters that don't have sense; just my opinion

  • word. they dont have sence cus they appear with such goofyness out of nowhere plus they got awkward kicks and punches etc... its all weird. i guess they wanna keep ryu, ken, iori, kyo intact or wattever...

  • the graphics for snk fighters are better than capcom..but the animations are not, capcoms sprites are more realistic ,movement wise; and king of fighters etc..were jerky and seem as though the animated movements werent fluid

  • @MasterOftheeUniverse Art of Fighting 3 says hello

  • i dont like snk's recent works

  • I can't believe how they managed to make such great games but had such a lame marketing-business vision.

$200 vs $600? Then NeoGeo CD with better engine but a slower cd unit than their rivals? They were so lost...

  • @touchthatsky You know what the best part is? They kept making games on other consoles besides their own! Not only were they crazy, they were fucking nuts!

  • SNK & Metal Slug FTFW.

  • Dan rocks in SF4

  • back when SF2 first came out everyone and their mother wanted to make a fighting game

  • snk is not dying out.

  • in the mid 90s, 1993/1994, when arcade gaming went 3d. namco and especially sega killed off snk and capcom in the arcades because unlike sega and namco, they couldn't get the transition to 3d. and what 3d games they attempt weren't very good. that's why hyper 64 failed and it eventually killed snk I think.

  • my personal opinion is that king of fighters 94 is cooler than street fighter 2. more characters, better graphics, 3 on 3, better style. dont kid yourself though, i still deeply love the street fighter franchise.

  • hell yeah¡¡¡ actually its only company that can provide hardcore games¡¡¡¡

  • well the first snk vs capcom that they did show is really good, but quite hard to find this days.

try snsk vs capcom caos, not the best but if you never play any this is the most easyest to find.

  • I actually never played Capcom VS SNK, wern't there like 3 of them? Wonder if any were good

  • theres 2 of them i don't know on how many system they have released but i still have the first one for ps1 and lately i boght 2 for my ps2 the first one is easy to play and beat but the second one is hard even in diffculty level 3 your life bar gose down very fast or maybe becase i am not good at it. the first one got s.f charecters & k.o.f charecters while the 2nd got darkstalkers charecters from capcom & samurai spirits charecters from snk have ben added. it depend on you if you like it or not

  • one word epic!!! you need to play capcom vs snk2 that was a good ass game try it

  • @toonamikid

You rock mate, I just bought Capcom vs SNK2 on gamecube and the game fucking rocks also I introduced my lil brother to Samurai showdown and king of fighters and he loves it to.

These days finding a classic fighting game from SNK or Capcom is hard to find cause most game shops are crowded with typical shooters.

No one makes a sic fighting games like they used to except for SNK and Capcom cause they always do. :D

  • Thanks man i'm glad you enjoyed it as much as i do

  • Art of Fighting was not the first fighting game to recieve scaling perspective... Pitfighter by Midway was the first.

  • I would NOT say the last SNK games were "rushed and unpolished"...SNK did their very best games right before they died! Games like Garou: Mark of the Wolves and King of Fighters 2000 were masterpieces!

  • SNK, what happened to you? Whyyyyyyeeeee? Whyeeeeee?

  • Wasn't the Neo64 arcade system basically just Nintendo64 hardware?

One of their biggest mistakes was attempting to get into the handheld market. They would've been better off just developing for Playstation and n64.

  • Totally different hardware. SNK did develop for the PS1.

  • @SupremeJudge Just to add to SupremeJudge post, SNK ported Fatal Fury Wild Ambition from the hyperneogeo64 to the PS1.

  • @SupremeJudge Really? Didn't know that. I know Sony developed the SNES CD for Nintendo but Nintendo decided against it. I think that is what spawned the Playstation idea (or maybe Nintendo caught wind of the PS and thought it would then be futile to add a CD to the aging SNES).

  • @ssdwellah I think Nintendo decided against it since it's targeted towards children 4-13. Makes you wonder what kind of games they could have made.

  • @SupremeJudge Nintendo didn't want to give up their monopoly on cartridge's which was still profitable to them. Sony wanted a CD only unit that would bring down costs to 3rd party developers. This was the major split for Nintendo and Sony and why the unit never went forward.

  • @SupremeJudge No, they went against it because Sony had wanted full control over the games released for the system, and Nintendo wasn't about to allow that to happen. Without telling them anything, they switched over to phillips CD and made Wand of Gamelon. Sony got pissed and took the SNES CD and converted it to Playstation, giving an admittedly karmic bitch slap to nintendo.

  • @LondonOntGuy I don't know. I love my Neo Geo Pocket Color. It was a good product but the rampant piracy really damaged SNK.

  • YEA We did get rick roll'd at 4:55 LOL!

  • LOL!! i noticed the rick roll'd music in the background too!! LOL!

  • Is it just me or have I been rick roll'd at 4:55?

  • I played Ninja Combat and Samurai Showdown more times then I can count at the arcade.

  • givmespace you say snk sucks yet snk's animations, sprites, color palette ect..was far superior to capcoms.also snk actual has been in the home console market something capcom never had the balls to do.snk was a head of their time and had the price been a marketable price they would of blew nintendo and sega out of the water back in the 16 bit era.

  • Capcom not venturing out into the console scene did not mean that they did not have balls. They just didn't see the benefit of it. And SNK, i guess it takes alot of balls to port every single one of their games on Nintendo, sega, and playstation consoles, when SNK were trying to sell their own over-priced consoles. What kind of backwards logic was that? Every SNK game i own has been on Super NES, PS1 or Dreamcast. And i got them cheap. Why do i need to buy their expensive consoles for?

  • Capcom DID attempt to break into the home console market, they just weren't successful. Then again, either were SNK.

    Capcom Power System Changer

  • @hardkoregamer1981 Agree... SNK's designs for KOF are far too good than Capcom's design for SF.

  • How long do you think it takes to make a game from start to finish? Some games take up to 5 years to make. Street Fighter 2 took 4 years to make.

  • i love how non of that said " no no snk doesnt suck" lol

4 years to create epicness..well worth it
