I've always had the claw grip, even though I don't play many pc games. It just felt the most accurate and comfortable for my long fingers. Nothing wrong with palm. Also,
For "Non" games i work with a Logitech MX518 ; it simply gives the best ergonomic and working with it for 12+ hours a day is fine.
A gaming mouse is better suited for performance ; but not for working with it over a very long time / the Claw style simply isnt made to relax your hand ; but offers the most speed as your muscles are constantly ready and slighty stretched (at least not relaxed, which happens with Palm).
Well its true that you can "click" faster with a Claw Grip ; but its not that crazy big of a difference between a Palm one.
Might simply try it ; click for 10 seconds with your fingertips and then with your lay down finger ; fingertips is allways faster unless you are a "mutant" ^^
But normally a game does not require you to click a bunch of hundred times in 10 seconds ; at least thats what Hotkeys are for.
I have a razer naga and put my thumb between the numbers 10 and 11 and i use my index finger for left click middle finger for right and its amazing as a sniper just make sure u put those 2 fingers far back so u can barely click
Clawing doesn't mean you don't use your arm to at all. It just refers to how you hold the mouse in your hand. Playing at a low sensitivity you use your arm for large movements and when picking at long distance you use your fingers to aim...
when palming, did you guys usually place the entire arm's weight on the mouse? i kinda don't want to rest my hand on the mouse pad since i don't want to wear it away. what i end up doing is supporting 90% of my arm's weight by my shoulder, which kills after a while.
@JeDiSh3eP did you adjust windows sensitivity? Because that would cause that. Windows sensitivity changes the ratios, not the dpi, so you will skip pixels. here is a great guide on that. look for overclock cs-s-mouse-optimization-guide . The rat 7/9 is a great mouse.
@stuffstuffa it wasn't the windows sensitivity that caused it
the device itself was faulty
first thing i did was plug it into my media pc (running ubuntu 10) to see if it worked under different conditions
when it first started playing up, all i would need to do to fix it was unplug the mouse and plug it back in. but as you can imagine in an FPS game, thats not an ideal situation.
i had a faulty device, i'm not saying all are bad or anything. but mine quite simply the laser died
@JeDiSh3eP Razer sucks. I had two, both broke in less then a year. Im having a Roccat Kone now, but i think i will go with Logitech when the kone breaks. Logitech is the best.
i think it depends on the mouse..i always am a palmggrip type.. but i holded my g9 palmed but with clawed fingers.. my g700 i holded normal palmed and the steelseries xai agen i hold like the g9..
@Disorder92 I'm searching more a new mouse right now and I'm torn between the g9x and g700. Which do you prefer and how big is your hand (if you don't mind telling)?
@musikislyphe i id have to decide ust between thoese to mice id pic the g700. my hands are average. the thing is it depends on what u play.. i play for example shooters and RTS (cod 4 etc and sc2) the g700 is a really heavy mouse.. so its good for shooters but bad for rts.. thats why i bought myself the steelseries xai.. its light it feels good and is for right and lefties (not that i care but just to tell :P) so i definitely recommend that if u play things where u see the mouse on the screen ;)
@musikislyphe its hard to say.. i dont know.. i know that the g700 with battery is 150g heavy and without battery its 130 g heavy.. i always uded only 14g of weight for the g9.. but think that all in al the g700 is heavier, yes..
@musikislyphe dude if u buy it off of newegg there is a return policy so u can buy one test it for a month and return it for your money back. i use to use a regular mouse and wanted to get a better one so i bought the razer death adder and in my opinion it was amazing.... i sent it back, got the Logitech g9x and was disappointed... i switched to the gaming grip and after 2 weeks i went from a palm grip with the death adder to a sort of claw grip using the g9x on 5700 dpi and had perfict aim!!
@musikislyphe just order the mouse u want to "test" and u have 1 month to return it( they give u an extra week) there is a restocking fee but its like $5 and they pay for return shipping. make sure to check ur email because thats where they give u the rma to print out. Newegg is the best company trust me!! i thing the g9x is still the best mouse but at first i was soo disapointed becouse it takes a week or to to get use to it but if ur looking 4 a higher mouse then u might like the G700. try em
Your description of claw grip was more like a fingertip grip.
Claw grip is just where your hand is further back than palm grip and you move it with your fingers (also a bit of wrist sometimes) and it gives you a LOT more accuracy.
get a logitech mouse, its well made and very comfortable... btw i tried razer naga and after 30 minutes of gaming i started to get hand cramps while i could use a logitech one for 5+ hours with no problems
@slipknotskate1 I'd go with the G9x. Very fast tracking speed, and plenty of buttons. DPI buttons are placed a bit weird, but I got used to them. Precision grip is quite comfortable despite the rough surface. Bit pricey at around 50-60 bucks, but much better than the similarily-priced Deathadder.
The Mako Sound System is the best thing ever created, but it is actually a THX product, visually designed by Razer (the black matte finish etc).
The Tarantula Keyboard lost the click feeling on the most used buttons (WSAD,TAB and others around). The Battlelight is the most useless shit ever created.
The Naga so far has been amazing, but if you are not gentle with the Mouse1&2 buttons, the cursor moves when you click them. Extremely annoying when double clicking.
The Lachesis Mouse should not exist. It is the most uncomfortable mouse out there. For 2 years I couldn't find a proper grip(still better than $5 Logitech mouse for work due to high DPI). Every 2nd time you start your PC, the Mouse cursor will not move and you have to restart the mouse. The skipping problem was NEVER fixed by Razer, its a defect(cursor fails to move in a straight line). Yesturday the mouse stopped working all together. No restarting/resetting/reinstalling helps.
Its bad. Unless you assume the perfect gaming position, which is rare, your wrists will hurt. The Pad is made of a very hard material and the edges are very sharp, so there is no workaround, except setting your chair higher than your desk, which sucks. On the plus side - the pad is immortal. I'm pretty sure I can fry eggs on it.
So overall I've given Razer a chance, you might say :)
Gonna use SteelSeries for the next 2 years though.
I'm trying to decide whether I should buy the Logitech G9X or the Logitech G500 based on my grip preferences. My grip is kinda weird, it's really an in between of the two. I don't rest my palm on the mouse, and instead kind of secure my rest on the tabletop, but my fingers dont form an exaggerated claw, they kinda just stretch out straight and rest on the buttons. When I move the mouse I use my wrist a little (not my whole arm) and fingers for extra precision. Which mouse is best for this?
lol, im like a halfass claw grip, but I guess im just palming, and have huge hands. but thx, I might use this to get a new mouse, cuz my current one broke... im having to use the trackpad >.<
@iluvfatchx you probably suck at bhopping, just be honest, Its better to use your Scroll Wheel, then you don't have to worry alot about timing your jumps.
Palm grip is when you have the whole hand touching the mouse, claw grip is when your finger tips and the bottom of the hand is touching the mouse all the time, fingertip grip is when only your finger tips touch it.
The only mouse Ive ever had is the Fatality ,and now its impossible for me to buy any other mouse because i cant palm grip ,and that is really disturbing .but yes I think that clawing is really faster and more accurate ,try learn to use the claw grip .
@hajosiko wtf u talking bout, first of all i dont bhop cuz thats for noobs, especially in snipers only, i always keep my feet on the ground, if ur bhopping then ur lottoing, u wanna hop take a ballet class, no hoppers in our clan. and when the hell u ever see soldiers hopping around like idiot noobs in war.
@iluvfatchx Claw gripping doesnt mean i would bhop around ,I never snipe or camp, im always on the move and bhopping helps sometimes ,its a good way to dodge bullets ,and no im not a knife runner either thats just stupid and to risky and disturbing , but that doenst mean i dont use knife ,I use the knife alot. But how can you accuse me for bunny jumping when i just said that im a claw gripper and thats faster and more accurate way.
@iluvfatchx I used to use the Creative fatality 2020 but now im using Logitech G500 which is cheap and good in every way ,too bad its not made for claw gripping but im getting used to it .
@turkification why? I am about to buy a mouse and thats the one I was leaning towards. Reviews seem to be good and its not that expensive. I have a mac and they are compatible. which would you recommend that is near the same price?
Try it first in your hands. It has a really bad grip (at least for me) I just can't get used to it. Also the software included sucks. I suggest getting a Logitech. Just try it in stores which fits best for you.
I'm gonna give mine to a nephew and buy a logitech G500 or mx518
@turkification Thats because it is a palm grip mouse , which translates to bad grip for people used to claw gripping or other way of gripping , yes the software sucks but other than that nice sensor, nice grip, nice build quality ,and nice price i dont see why the death adder sucks.
@lepimpazo The software really sucks (im using a mamba) it is sluggish and hangs up easily, but other than that i dont see a reason for not getting a death adder ,its palm grip is pretty good ,and has quite precise tracking , the price tag is reasonable so i dont see why not getting a razer death adder
I think that if you're a pc gamer and you really need a tutorial on how to hold your own mouse you're retarded. I had a G3 mouse that I held palm, now I have a G9x that I hold Claw... Like really, it doesn't matter how you hold it, it matters what you think is better, and if you're comfortable.
people who look at this and say shit about how hard it is and whats the point and they think its gay. are noobs or pub heroes this tut is to get u better at gaming counter strike is a hard game alot of small stuff goes a long way to get better aim its not like cod how u point and shoot if u dont get it play counter strike for 3 years and then u wil

ya know what i think i found my problem. for some reason i fucking hold my DA wierd i think . my finger is all the way up like its all the way up on the end of the thumb slant, i think my fingers are too long for it. lol
I use fingertip grip but trying to change that to palm grip cause I find it more efficient in 3D shooters, I use the Razor mamba wich is basically a better version of the deathadder.. great review btw..
i claw grip, and i never even thought about the "style" i was using until i saw this video, my wrist stays stationary, and my hand moves the mouse with a claw like grip, and i get plenty of kills xD
i can't get rid of the impression that you bought all the razer gear jut to make youtube videos... the razer site has "what grip goes with what mouse". Some of us want to get some info from the tube but guys that are just wasting time putting their useless videos are making it hard...
I moved from a steelseries Ikari to a Razer Mamba which looks like it has the ergonomics of a death addler. I can't seem to fit my hand on it comfortably. The ikari cradled all of my fingers
@sidewaysfcs0718 the deathadder is actually palm grip, i bought one today and it doesnt suit me coz i use claw grip and the mouse is huge, bigger than mx518
@TeamSimpless It's kinda small like Creative Fatal1ty, I think G9x is a claw grip. I use MX518 myself. I feel at home gripping my friend's G9x and I'm a claw grip.
I've always had the claw grip, even though I don't play many pc games. It just felt the most accurate and comfortable for my long fingers. Nothing wrong with palm. Also,

i deny to watch this video. worst tutorial ever. who cares how you hold a mouse?
Deathadder is ergonomic, so you can't hold it wrong... it's specially created for your hand.

Razer Deathadder sucks. Worst mouse I have ever had.
turkification 1 year ago
@turkification why? I am about to buy a mouse and thats the one I was leaning towards. Reviews seem to be good and its not that expensive. I have a mac and they are compatible. which would you recommend that is near the same price?
thegarbageman21 1 year ago
@thegarbageman21
Try it first in your hands. It has a really bad grip (at least for me) I just can't get used to it. Also the software included sucks. I suggest getting a Logitech. Just try it in stores which fits best for you.
I'm gonna give mine to a nephew and buy a logitech G500 or mx518
turkification 1 year ago
@turkification Thats because it is a palm grip mouse , which translates to bad grip for people used to claw gripping or other way of gripping , yes the software sucks but other than that nice sensor, nice grip, nice build quality ,and nice price i dont see why the death adder sucks.
shermanlee85856 1 year ago
@turkification im planning to get one, tell me why you said deathadder sucks, thanks.
lepimpazo 1 year ago
@lepimpazo The software really sucks (im using a mamba) it is sluggish and hangs up easily, but other than that i dont see a reason for not getting a death adder ,its palm grip is pretty good ,and has quite precise tracking , the price tag is reasonable so i dont see why not getting a razer death adder
shermanlee85856 1 year ago
step 1, you put your hand ontop, step 2, you mouve your hand around step 3, whoa! :D

I use fingertip grip but trying to change that to palm grip cause I find it more efficient in 3D shooters, I use the Razor mamba wich is basically a better version of the deathadder.. great review btw..

i can't get rid of the impression that you bought all the razer gear jut to make youtube videos... the razer site has "what grip goes with what mouse". Some of us want to get some info from the tube but guys that are just wasting time putting their useless videos are making it hard...

I moved from a steelseries Ikari to a Razer Mamba which looks like it has the ergonomics of a death addler. I can't seem to fit my hand on it comfortably. The ikari cradled all of my fingers

the deathadder kinda looks like a claw grip to me ...cus the front of the mouse is sloped down ...
i guess it depends ...
something like mx518 looks like palm grip ..and its so heavy i cant claw grip it and still play ...
sidewaysfcs0718 1 year ago
@sidewaysfcs0718 the deathadder is actually palm grip, i bought one today and it doesnt suit me coz i use claw grip and the mouse is huge, bigger than mx518
cutefishyz 1 year ago
@cutefishyz wut r u retarded? the mx518 is huge compared to the razer deathadder
you have to palm the mx518 while you should claw the adder
aplayaz2000 1 year ago
@aplayaz2000 ur face is retarded, I have both, is obviously bigger and higher

Is the logitech G9x for Claw Grip or Palm Grip
Im looking for claw grip mouses can someone help me find claw grip mouses
TeamSimpless 1 year ago
@TeamSimpless It's kinda small like Creative Fatal1ty, I think G9x is a claw grip. I use MX518 myself. I feel at home gripping my friend's G9x and I'm a claw grip.
norc24601 1 year ago
@TeamSimpless G9 Is definately Claw. G5 however is a very palmstyle.
