I appreciated this CPR demostration for all ages. The last time I learned CPR the # to use heart compressions was 15. I suppose I should have sought out training a while ago. Very thorough demonstration. I'll watch a few more times, hopefully more info will sink in.
Changes have occurred in the ratio of compressions to breaths. Research found that 15 compressions only started the blood flow process. The new recommendations state minimization of interruptions is key in increasing chances of survival and are designed not only to begin the blood flow process and allow for adequate circulation of oxygen throughout the body.
Student states that compressions should be done at a rate of 100 per minute and that "they should be hard and fast" - it doesn't appear that way to me.
