My Piplup wanted to evolve at 15 it tryed again for like 2x times then near 22 I didn't notice but it started the evolve thingy and I didn't press B on time.. so Now I have an Empoleon (this was 3 hours after it evolved from the one after piplup 0_o) I wanted it to stay at Piplup too..

I got piplup on my Pearl version ^_^ Shes great! (Mines a girl :)) Very strong. Level 9 right now but getting there! Awesome pokemon early in the game! electric right off the bat. Although, I have to say, wild pokemon jump you like 3x as much as in other games, so it does get annoying when you can't get through a single patch of grass without getting mauled lol.

Turtwig is the best to start with I think, his final form is part earth, since it is already strong against the rival who chose Piplup, the one who got Chimchar, because once it does evolve to it's final form at 32 it learns Earthquake, making it good even against fire.

i only get the grass type starters unless i get the opposing version also then i get grass and then water the fire type is to cliche eveyone is gonna get the fire type
