  • ...anyone who thinks Wendell Clark wasnt tough is clearly not thinking straight. Who tossed the gloves and said "lets go" against the best fighter in the league ...Wendell. Now being a Blackhawk and a Probert fan...I have nothing but praise for Big Bob...but i wont in any way toss molitov coctails at Clark. For his size...he was as tough as they came. Not to mention...he won this exchange but a slim decision...which not many could say when you are facing Probie in his prime.

  • 2 DRAWs.

  • What's with the fuckin' linesmen getting in there so fast?

  • Clark was perhaps the pound for pound best fighter of his generation. Leafs still suck though.

  • @wovokanarchy Clark was a pussy compared to Probert, Kocur or even Grimson.

  • @wovokanarchy LEafs stink now, but their team back then was awesome...best chance for them to win a cup

  • I think Wendy blew her wad early in this fight and Bob naturally as should have been the case, took over.

Wendy was praying she didnt have to fight too long.

    lmao

  • notice how clark dosnt wait for probert to get set he just jumps him b4 he was ready... low class. and he knows he cant beat probert straight up

  • @sealteamplankowner86 are you kidding me, do you know how many times these guys fought? and how many times clarky shitpumps probert... straight up

  • clark was one of the best all around players of his time. he can fight, he can score, he was a captain, and he was a franchise player. unfortunate he never won a cup but he truly was the prime example of how hockey should always be played, with just pure heart.

  • Clark never was one to drop them and square off for a fair fight, just threw the gloves and started punching whether his opponent was ready or not. That is, of course, unless he was fighting a much smaller opponent.

  • @jatt96 they didnt need to have big enforcers....clark would knock 2 or 3 down on thier ass in a shift, let alone his fighting. Oh and cant forget when he blew thier team on thier ass he would even score, talented isnt he?

  • Toronto's brass have always been morons, and letting their top scorer fight all the time is an example of that. FAIL.

  • @jlsjls09

Fuck you dickhead ! I hope you get cancer or Aids or both you fucking maggot.

  • @jlsjls09 You classless fuck

  • @jlsjls09 You truly are an ignorant piece of shit

  • @jlsjls09 what the hell is wrong with you, do u think before u write i mean maybe u weren't hugged as kid why else would u write this shit!

  • another scrap where clark was gi ving up a huge size disadvantage. Probert's also one of the best tactical fighter, destroying lots of superheavy's in the process.

  • curt walker was about 6'3

  • SOLID DRAW IMO.

    Both had moments here.

  • Clark was probably 5'11", Tie Domi was around 5'9"?

Did the Leafs have any enforcer that was over 6'2" at least? Come on!

  • @Jatt96 they had Ken Baumgartner who was about 6'1 and Kordic is 6'2". Colton Orr is 6'3"

  • Clark was too talented to be the Leaf's goon. They wore him out.

  • thats the way he likes to play.. just because you have skills and your a captain, doesn't mean you can't play rough.

  • That second fight Probie was just about to run the table for about 30 seconds like he usually does during the 2nd half of his fights....hope you sent those linesmen a Christmas card, Wendell.

  • once a player tries to grab the pants and throw him down, that means he does not want to fight.

  • wendel is god

  • As a Canadiens fan,Wendell Clark was my favorite tough guy on the Maple Leafs along with Tiger Williams.

  • Once again, after Probert gets started the linesmen jump in.

Clark, however, was a talented leader who also fought well. Heart and soul guy that every team needs.

  • Clark did a good job. Clearly the winner in round 1. Does OK in round 2.

  • Clark was the man, we all know it. He busted he knuckles every game to save the leaf's face. Every team need's a player like Clark. Domi was the last for the leafs and he didn't come close to filling the boots that Clark wore.

Sundin, YOU SUCK as a captain. The only time you put your %110 in was when you were playing for Sweden during IIHL. Gilmore you tried. Rickey was a pretty good captain but nothing compares to Clarkey!!

  • i would cry with joy if the cup came home to toronto,,,,,,

  • man i wish the leafs had a forward like clark right now. the defence has a little grit. the forwards are schoolgirls.

  • Krawnikal...I wonder why they moved the Wings to another division? Because the Red Wings Stunk against the Leafs year after year. And didn't make it past the first round. They did it because of the MARKET and didn't want the curse of being beat every year haha.

  • Howz that taste Bob Wendel smashed ya 2wice, proveing Wendel Clark is the toughest SOB ever in the NHL>

  • Comment removed

  • two of the best to ever drop the gloves.

  • Its kinda hard no really hard to fight when ya cant grab on to your opponent.

  • back in the good ole' days. go leafs go!

  • Clark has the heart of a lion

  • he owened him! Wendell Clark is a hockey God!

  • I love both combatants but I gotta say the four times that they fought I would say that Clark won 2, Probert won 1 and a draw. If Clark had his quick burst at the beginning and lands several punches than he tends to win, but if the fight gets over around 30 seconds than Probert starts to land the most shots (like the annoucer said hes a late fighter).

Two very different fighting styles, but they are undoubtedly two of the greatest fighters of all time.

  • Ahh good ole cokehead Bobby getting pummelled by a guy 5 inches shorter and 40 lbs lighter.

Clark had more hockey talent in his baby-toe than Probert had in his whole body.

Never was the same after Ewen KOed him.

What a disappointment he was to Blackhawk fans, never won a fight in a Chicago jersey. Pretty sad really.

  • Douchebag? Is that you?

  • He knocked big Wade Belak, Scott Parker on their ass. Pummeled Mel Angleste, Stu Grimson all as a Blackhawk. You may not like Probert but watch some of his tributes and then tell me he never won a fight as a Blackhawk. Played in the leauge for 20 years over 300 fights. The numbers speak for themselves. I think he just lost interest playing for a no contending team.

  • I would dare say that if Probie played for the Queefs, all their fans would adore him! The first fight Clark got off like 10 punches that did nothing, Probie dropped him with one punch! Must've been the coke? Yeah right..

Second fight could've gone either way but the refs saved Clark's ass when they jumped in as Probie got his right loose.

Ppl who root for the little guy are little ppl themselves. Respect Clark all you want, but as a fighter he was nothing more than a punching bag....

  • Wow you're pretty stupid aren't you?

  • Not as stupid as your question.

  • No stupid questions, only stupid people. You sir are a testament to that.

  • Why am I a testament to that? Because I have a differing opinion? When did Clark have a decisive win over Probie? Did Clark ever fight Probie away from MLG? Oh, I forgot Probie scored the last goal ever at MLG.... People are allowed to have their opinion. Mine just happens to differ from yours. I'm stupid? Right....

  • Typical clark taking guys shirts off.

  • Fuck off WC is not a fag like you, it is tactical to take the shirt off idiot, nothing sexual about it

  • Yeah you're just mad cuz you read my comment while you happened to be wackin it to wendel

  • And wendell clark is totally a fag, you idiot.

  • yeah, that is why he is married to a woman and has 3 kids by her, idiot

  • Winnipeg, that explains it, you are the fucking queer, go cry over the Jets daddy fucker

  • What the fuck's wrong with winnipeg? Wasn't toronto the one who started the whole gay parade thing? Wendell likes guys, stop being so insecure about some other dude's sexuality as if it were your own, fuckin toronto make-beleives fan, when's the last time they won the cup? 42 years ago?lol

  • Wow!

GSRou812 called me a D-I-N-K! Ouch, man.Don't know if i'll recover from that insult. That was an insult, right?

I love the defenders of guys like Clark or Domi always fall back on the size of their guy.Did Clark have to fight? No. He chose to fight, sometimes to his demise.Being smaller in a hockey fight doesn't mean shit.If all you had to do is be big to be good, then the Swede from Philly would've killed them all.

  • Clark was the man!

    always hung in there!

  • I would kick proberts legs out from under him

Lindros was known for that, which made him a great fighter ( BEFORE he got 8 concussions)

  • amazing when clark threw a punch it almost always did some damage..

  • man you have to admire Clark taking on one of the best fighters ever. Clark's just a pitbull.

  • Yeah dumb ass how would he be jacked on coke

  • stefy have you ever done cocaine?

  • Ever notice Leaf fans that all of the fights were at Leafs home. Why do you suupose that is?Ever notice most of Wendy's fights were at home?Wonder why that is?He may have suffered from the Neely complex.

  • you can call him wendy and I can call you a fucking asshole

  • where's the hostility coming from? relax man. calling it as i see it.

  • WoW...Your a dink!

Clark was loved beacause he was not the biggest guy and he was'nt the team goon....yet he fought every teams goon who was usally twice his size. And I worked at Kingston Ontarios Dennys for a'while and in the off season he would come in every weekend and have breakfest with his hot as hell wife. Nicest guy ever.....I dare you to call him Wendy to his face you internet keyboard coward!!!

  • i'll call him wendy.who gives a shit?wendy wendy wendy w-e-n-d-y!!!!!!! see, i can call him wendy too!

  • wendy ahahahah

  • I fuckin dare you to call him "Wendy"!! Nasty he would clean your clock big time and i would like to see it biatch!!

  • there's a thin line between "when you fight wendel be ready" and getting sucker punched.if these fights had been a little longer, we'd be referring to him as the "late" wendel clark.

  • wendal won big time. bobby was a good fighter, but only cause he was jacked up on coke all the time

  • Assuming that's true, what's the difference between him and a jacked up on steroids Tony Twist?

  • well steriods make you bigger and stronger, but in a fight cocaine will make you almost immune to pain. plus, you fear nothing.

  • whatever, I'm not going to argue the point.I think Bob was a much better fighter than Wendel and if these fights had not been broken up, Wendel would've been hurt.

  • Clark had incredible instincts in knowing when a fight is going to happen. I dont think anyone ever could drop the mitts faster then Clark. When you fight Wendel, you better be ready.

  • ive met clark really nice guy not a big guy but very humble when ya talk to him.

  • ever notice all of his fights were at toronto?wonder why wendy didn't drop them when they used to play on the same division all those games at the jla.......hhhmmmm.......

  • nice

  • I haven't seen these guys fight for years. I remembered Probert throwing Clark like a rag doll, but not in this one. Does anyone have the fight where Probert beats Clark?

  • i love wendell clark...but give me a break. He was holding on for dear life in round 2. Great all around player with a ton of heart. He would have been a great Bruin! Too bad his back was all fucked up. If he were healthy, he could have put up Neely like numbers.
