Arroyos minutes have nothing to do with nationality. He doesn't shoot well and isn't explosive/quick enough to guard quick NBA PG's. Coaches give minutes to good players. Gasol, Ginobili, Parker, Nowitzki, even Olajuwon and Mutombo are a few past/present example of non-Americans who have had an impact.

This guy just as good as some of those guys you listed. You just look at the stats and thats not all there is too it. This guy is clutch and plays his best when he needs to. He's a pass first guard who isn't assertive. Believe me though. HE IS AMAZING.

@racosta1968 lol. i hope you know that no one in u.s. cares about olympics, or fiba or anything. the most competitive basketball league in the world is the nba. why do you think that this last year in fiba, we didnt send lebron james, kobe bryant, dwight howard, amare stoudemire, ron artest, aaron brooks.... arroyo was good, he just didnt fit into any team's chemistry, he was after money. but he looked amazing in other leagues like this hebrew one.

US team celebrated their FIBA win. Charles Barkley said winning the gold was the most important thing he has ever done.

used to love arroyo but i think we should let him go... yeah hes good but he isnt making his teamates better like a playmaker should... he plays for stats. his defence is rubbish and plays like he doesnt care for the team but more for the paycheck

Carlos is an amazing player but he plays on the wrong position in Maccabi. In Maccabi he is a playmaker but Carlos is more shooting guard. he can be a point but he prefers the shooting guard. If maccabi finds european point guard and puts him near arroyo it will be amazing team.
