Actually, most Americans and a lot of the world's population are against gay marriage, with the notable exceptions of South Africa, Canada, Spain, and whatnot. Besides, the US isn't based on God's law, but on the secular Constitution- and considering that all arguments against gay marriage trace back to religion- there is no real reason why it shouldn't be allowed. Ted Haggard has the right to marry that male prostitute he had so much fun with if he so chooses.
