@vingtsung1 Hey V, You can do this workut 3X per week or yuo can do this Spartacus workout on Monday and choose 2 others to put some variety into your training. One for W and another for F - Spartacus workout 1 - Monday - spartacus Blood and Sand - Wednesday and Spartacus Midnight Express - Friday for example
Mr. Roberts, Thanks for the awesome workouts. We have a group of firefighters that have taken on the challenge. One quick question. Is the audio that you are using for the intervals available? I've just purchased the gymboss, but like the audio on this video. Thanks
Hi, nice workout but quick question. Your video says to do this 3 rounds, but your pdf workout says do it 2 rounds "Take a 15 second rest and move to next exercise within that time, and rest for 2 minutes after you’ve completed 1 circuit of all 10 exercises. Then repeat one more time."
@thesaintjim Sure, because it was week 1, I wanted people to ease into the program by doing it for 2 rounds, but yuo can gauge your fitness and go 3 if you want. But at least 2 rounds - Funk
wow awesome take on the spartacus workout. I've been doing the one originally released by men's health and there have definitely been results but this is even better. I can't wait for monday to try out your 4 week challenge. Props on the hardcore intervals, feeling the pain inbetween on those 15 second rests is all too familiar :P
@teethr33 Hey, when you did the original spartacus workout by mens health, what type of results did you see, like did u lose fat, or build more muscle? and in how long?
@Manggg16 well I didn't take any measurements so its hard to quantify but my overall fitness got much much better and I definitely built muscle just from looking at myself. Particularly shoulders arms and chest you will start to see better definition after a few weeks. I also noticed that certain everyday things became much easier like when you have to squat down for something at the bottom of a shelf at the grocery store you will be rock solid no wobble or trembling of the legs at all.
I think your workouts are an inspiration, it's given me a whole new lease of life in the gym and has helped my muay thai training immensely already after just doing the Kettlebell MMA workouts and the Muay Thai Spartan work out alone!
@honan91@marcroops If you have different tension on either sides of a joint, you will have articular problems. Being big is interesting but you need to grow equally and balance the load on your joints (which can't be improved with exercises) and not just the way you feel is prettier. If you develop an imbalance that impedes your health in long term, this means you will be strong only for a short amount of time, and you may never reach your "full" muscular capacity.
@5tevend damn, you read through all these comments? ;)
Triceps is Greek for three heads, or three connections with your skeleton - not three muscles. Biceps are the antagonists, if you have more tension, you break balance and posture, making you both ugly (asymmetrical) and in danger of having articular problems.
I aint racist or anythin but is it true that black people have better genetics when it comes ta muscle buildin? That's just somethin I've been wonderin for a while. Sorry if it sounds kind of .. bad.
can't say tht for all black ppl but i agree with you that the majority of them have better genetics when it comes to muscle building. i don't wanna sound racist either but it all goes back to selective breeding with slaves. breeding the strong males with strong females gives you better results. its been proven.
@kentuckybrown yeah man, they used to breed the strongest slaves, in an attempt to build some kind of 'super-slaves' i guess...and kill the intellects, so it was only the really big, strong ones left (essentially...not completely true, obviously there were intellectual ones, they just hid it well) but in short, yes, that is why the US has a mainly black track and field team in the olympics and stuff, all the basketballers are black, and a lot of the NFL players (the big ones) are black...
@kentuckybrown however, having said that, it doesn't mean you can't achieve good results either, just put in the effort, hard work, and you will do well too...
this is the best workout i have ever found, but i use dumbbells for every workout like the arm planks and stuff, i use this at school, i am an athletic trainer, and i am on 17 i make my wrestling and boxers do it all the time, they wanted to give up after the 6th exercise haha i dare anyone to do this just once with only 10 pound weights with full effort, you will wish you hadn't ; )
Ouch...
first day... that hurt lol
But i feel great, really felt like i accomplished something today

Is it better to use dumbells or kettlebells for these workouts?

@kombatmaster7 Hey Kombat, It's better to use kettlebells for sure, but some of my Spartacus Workouts call for both - good luck Funk Roberts

You work out your triceps more than you work out your biceps with this program. If you do this on a regular basis… ouch.
RedBuddies 1 year ago
@RedBuddies and imagine how big and strong your arms will be seeing that the triceps are 2/3rds of your arm
marcroops 1 year ago 7
@RedBuddies yeah dude, if you want big arms, do a lot of triceps work...everyone thinks its all biceps, but big triceps=big arms...

@RedBuddies Ok so lets just notice, TRIcep - BIcep.
A TRIcep has 3 muscles a BIcep has 2. the tricep works out as 2/3 of your arms mass and assists you in chest and pushing movements
