These MSNBC folks are embarassing themselves as badly as Kerry did - trying to say that Kerry, somehow, didn't *really* say that.
It doesn't matter what he might have meant to say, or what he thought he should have said...the bottom line is that he DID say it - he insulted the Troops!!
He needs to apologize and stop all this lying that "he didn't really say it."
Why is it that when Bush dragged Kerry's military record (Purple Heart)-(swiftboat)through the mud nobody said Bush should apologize? I despise Bush and his cronies!! We cannot be rid of him soon enough.
i'm sorry but if he was insulting Bush he should not have worded it like that. and as for 'a bunch of despicable republicans not taking responsibility for their mistakes' it sure sounds like thats what he's doing to me. My sister is in the navy and personaly i believe that if you make a joke that even sounds like you are insulting are armed forces you need to apologize.
blastingcaps, are you serious? The Republicans are the ones "stuck in Iraq," strategically, and why would Kerry insult the troops? Why would any politician? Kerry's a pure politician (who I don't like), who'll tell people anything they want to hear, and no one wants to hear that the troops are stupid. How anyone can believe this was an insult to soldiers is suffering the same lack of intelligence that Kerry points out in Bush.
umm...i still think its a obvious slag on the military. and i am an anarchist who doest vote. the crap before the main quote doesnt change that he was sayin dummies go fight wars...which is a typical leftist view point going back to ww1 russia.
Actually, people with authoritarian personalities..
A minor change, but just trying to help..
The Iraq war was illegal and the UN didn't support it. Bush had to ignore international law in order to fight this war. This is a war crime. We're hanging Saddam while the perpetrators of this illegal war go free.
ok, that kind of makes more sense since he was giving one-liners about bush just before he botched that one joke that was supposed to be directed at bush instead of the troops. They really should make that other vid on the front page longer.
OK he may have mis spoke but he truth is every mother of a HS Senior in the country is telling their kid the same thing. Outside the wealthy Republican's that is. The truth is none of expect to see the Bush twins in the Green Zone or even rolling bandages anytime soon let alone on the frontlines. Enlistments are down. And the poor kids willing to gamble their lives that they'll survive and get a college education out of a touor in Iraq are getting fewer.
Olbermann is a hack. His show is an editorial that forwards the liveral agenda - NOT an objective news program. He has only 2 tricks in his bag. 1) Bash Bush and the Administration 2) Stalk Bill O'Reilly. That's how he gets his ratings. His recent "interview" of impeached President Clinton amounted to a "blow job piece".
you act like any of the other shows on fox news msnbc is any differnet. They have two tricks: 1) scare the american people, and bash the opposition, 2) give half the story
Um, aren't editorials allowed in the US? I thought that's what the Peter Zenger case led to. What's it called? Oh, yeah, the First Amendment. What a silly thing that was...
If you get your "news" from Olbermann, then you are a "mindless sheep" of the liberal agenda. Keith is a hypocrite. He is delusional & thinks he is a respected journalist like Walter Cronkite... but he tries to act like Jon Stewart. If you want objective, watch Tucker Carlson or Joe Scarborough.
No, sir. We are not too stupid to understand. Generalizing "the people of the US"'s views is both unintelligent, and undermeaning. Remember, Bush's approval rating is now lower than Nixons. There has never been a president with approval ratings this low. He was also appointed worst president in history. So, we DO know our government lies, we are enraged, and YOU obviously do not understand anything about the american people.
Hilarious! Speaking of being unintelligent, how about those people who make up new, nonsensical words like "undermeaning"? Ridiculous! Oh, wait...
And by the way, many of this country's citizens do NOT understand that the government is lying to them. Is it their fault cor believing politicians, or the politicians for being manipulative demagogues? Take your pick.
Kerry said that our troops "terrorize women & children in Iraq" & has accused them of war atrocities. In '72 he accused his Vietnam buddies of war crimes in war protests as a member of "Vietnam Veterans Against the War". He's a smug prick who hurls insults at the President every chance he can. That's not something that is dignified, or becoming of a member of the U.S. Senate.
Anything that our Troops have or may have done wrong is the responsibility of those who gave the orders to do it. If our troops did anything wrong, it's because of Mr. Bush's orders. Iraq is a disaster and you DittoHeads know it. That's why you'll do anything to distract from the tragedy that is the Iraqi Occupation.
So the guy speaks the truth! The president is still a person and his policies should be questioned, attacked and discussed, thats how a democracy works. If that means exposing Bush's weaknesses as a leader then so be it.
Liberals defending a troop-hater. Typical.

I think Kerry really did just mess up the joke. But, he is still just a sore looser.
1Co118 4 years ago
Kerry thinks he is so 'brave' but in vietnam he floated down a river in a floating fortress, never on the frontlines and his rewards were not earned.

Seems that the 'mainstream media' is only interested in context when it suits their personal agenda. Also scarfaceborough is not a real news anchor.

Boo hooo... the troops... the troops.. boo hoo.
I think they can take care of themselves. and if you and everyone is so concern about the troops, why don't you rally up and bring them home.

Because 'cut and run' is NOT what the Troops do.
