Unfortunately they did mime in this performance, it says in the book that the reason for doing so that they were not allowed to sing live as they were too close to the speakers and the mics would have fed back. Gary did say that it did feel a bit of a fraud. So really we cant blame them! They are still the best!

Er, you didn't exactly need to be a brain surgeon to see that these over-paid chimps were lip-syncing on the night - an absolute disgrace and an insult to fans and non-fans alike for thinking they could get away with it. Full credit then to the likes of Girls Aloud (much easier on the bloody eye too!) and others who had the balls, credibility and energy to sing live at what is very possibly the biggest night in Brit pop. Gary and Co - pathetic!.

Personally, paying to see a band or group mime, is like paying to illegally download pornography. Even if it excites you that it's there, and give you some sort of enjoyment for a small while, you'd finish up and think '...wow... i coulda done that for free... or gone to see a lapdancer and get a little extra for about the same money'

regardless, miming is just their way of saying 'we're getting old, we cant sing off the bat anymore.'

I've seen them live twice and Gary sounded pretty close to perfect to me both times.

& To the Britney thing - they sang live on X Factor and if they mimed at the Brits there's probably some good reason for it because they never mime.

I swear there's parts of it when they are definitely singing, even if there are parts of it that are mimed!
