Love Actually and Boogie Nights are two completely different albeit excellent movies. Comparing them beyond these two montages is absurd. Anyway, it is interesting to see a straight-up, earnest use of this song juxtaposed with a melancholic, slightly tragic use of the track.
Boogie Nights FTW! (wow, someone on this page wrote that EXACTLY as I was thinking it). the "Love Actually" ending was moving, and I only like the "Boogie Nights" one more because it went more places. That plus its the movie that left an indelible stain in my SOUL and made me want to be a filmmaker.
I must say, I was completely thrown off by the title of this video and I put off viewing it for a long time. But now I see that this is one of the coolest things I have ever seen! Nice-no, VERY NICE JOB!!!!
@XXcheckplzXX I think you just have a better understanding for human emotion and feelings. Such as caring and understanding. This probably means you'll have a better chance at a long and happy marriage.
dont know what that says but "God Only Knows" is Paul McCartney's all-time favorite song. So if the "greatest band ever" Beatles like the Beach Boys as their favorite song, wouldnt that make the Beach Boys better? Yes!!!!!!!!!
Are you mentally challenged? Yes!!!!!!!!! It would be pretty cocky of Paul McCartney to choose one of his own songs as his favorite ever. Seriously you think the Beach Boys were better than the Beatles?
no, i am so distantly ahead of you mentally that its not funny. clearly you don't know much at all about music, and the history of it, or you wouldn't be hanging on to Rolling Stone's every dick-suckin word about the Beatles, and how ground-breaking and revolutionary they were for music. Yea, the beach boys definitely held a cheesy image of the california surf life, and as a whole, no they are not even close to the Beatles. Brian Wilson? yes, he destroys the beatles as a collective unit.
The Beatles were extremely influential because of their willingness to experiment, not because of what Rolling Stone tells people to think. And Beach Boys were annoying pop. You, sir, were dropped on the head as a child.
annoying pop? what did the beatles start out as again..? oh right.. annoying pop. i understand they were influential because of their popularity, which was created solely by 13-year-old girls. bravo! now THAT'S credentials! what you fail to see is that "influence" and "ability" are two drastically different things... being the most popular by no means makes you the best. and nothing they did was entirely new, except perhaps the use of sitar in Norwegian Wood, but being the most popular
Learn your stuff. The Beatles are remembered for their simple pop songs but they're legends because of the drugged up experimentation they did in albums like Sgt. Pepper and the White album. The stuff they did was very new.
hahah you're hilarious....and extremely dense too it seems. IT WAS ALL DONE BEFORE.. do you not get that?? expand your library a little, do research on ALL of it, and then try and bring this argument up again.
and i must correct myself, i just learned that The Yardbirds used a sitar before Harrison in Norwegian Wood, but since they didn't release it, Harrison swooped in and claimed credit for introducing it to rock. that's the kinda biased bullshit i'm talking about... can you see?
What I see is that you're the kind of person that hates something just because everyone else likes it. Go have fun being a rebel and listening to shitty indie bands and inflating your ego.
I don't hate the Beatles at all... well I do hate John Lennon but that is not music-related. I just hate how overrated they are.. and definitely disagree that they are the greatest band of all time.
And i dont listen to any indie music at all that shit is garbage. i have about 40,000 songs so i know my shit. what i see is that you dont know your shit at all, and are the type of person that just loves what everyone else loves. go have fun being a follower, and latching on to someone elses ego
Lol ok this is going nowhere. You're also wrong about me, but that doesn't really matter. For what it's worth I didn't like John Lennon either for reasons other than music skills. And if I ever said the Beatles were the best band ever I definitely didn't mean it.
meant they were the first ones to be SEEN doing it, but not actually doing it. most of the innovative techniques employed by the beatles in the studio were the thoughts of their producer, not the beatles themselves. again, they reaped the benefits. apparently you haven't even heard any music that came out before the beatles..
i mean it was fine when my 12 year old cousin thought the beatles were the best, but man, you're 29... all-around best band ever would have to be Pink Floyd i'd say.
"boogie night" est un pur chef d'oeuvre!!!!! paul anderson est un génie!!!! superbe film tout simplement et la bande original démentiel (bowie, kc and the sunshine band...) thanks...
Though I really liked the whole "Family" idea behind the ending of Boogie Nights. I really appreciated the ending montage of Love, Actually with real people being reunited. It had a lot more warmth, i guess.
