There were only two black infantry units in WW2, and unless you were lucky enough to be a black pilot towards the end of the war, you were either a cook, engineer (built roads), or load/unload supplies. They did not mix black and white units,.ever. Even General Patton (who was a product of his time) claimed that "black men did not have the mental capacity to handle themselves on the battlefield." So ordering them to liberate important camps was probably out of the question,.back then, that is.
