  • My friend pointed the Neos out. I am not crazy about the looks, but the short barrel (4.5") look fun, I have seen good reviews. I am also considering the Ruger SR22, which is amazing, but it has an aluminum slide (I prefer Steel) and cannot accept a Red Dot Sight easily like the Beretta.

I really like the Ruger but the Beretta has a lot going for it. It has grown on me. So far I am planning to get the Beretta.

  • shot it yesterday it was my friends and this gun was fun as HELL shooting just wish I had the money to buy one for myself

  • shot this today, and it kicks ass...

  • yo pienso que deberia aber mas comentarios en español MANITA ARRIBA SI PIENSAS LO MISMO

  • @pelorecortasrambo Creo que los lectores saben cómo usar Google Translate.

  • As soon as Cabelas has them on sale I am getting one.

  • @cooldog60 They seldom come on sale, but at less than $300, they are a good deal anyway. I have had mine for several years now and LOVE it. Get one now and don't miss out on the fun by waiting.

  • Looks like one sweet pistol.

  • Could you use Ruger MKI, MKII, or MKIII magazines with this gun??

  • @RyeOnHam Kay cuz it kinda looked like you were using the Ruger mags

  • @KillaChains96 Still no. As was stated before, the magazine is similar to the Colt Woodsman, Browning Buck Mark, Smith & Wesson 22A, and High Standard. Ruger actually has FOUR models of 22 magazine: the 22/45, Ruger Mk 1, Ruger Mk II, or Ruger MK III.

NONE of these magazines are interchangeable.

  • dose the clip or magazeine or what ever its called on a hand gun only take 10 bullets

  • @kaptinkarr While it pains me that you don't know the terminology, it pains me even more that you don't know how to use Google.

  • @RyeOnHam

    Could have just answered him.

  • @madworld10 If you can type the question into Google, why do I need to waste my time answering? The answer to his question is, technically, "no". Happy?

See, my answer to you is one you wouldn't have gotten out of Google. That's why I was compelled to answer. Also, I noticed that you used a complete albiet colloquial sentence to get your two cents in. You pass. C+ for you.

  • @RyeOnHam

Your reply to him just seemed rude and unnecessary. Maybe you just don't care. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, could you bump that up to at least a B- or B? A C+ would kill my average.

  • @madworld10 Well, I do care about the English language. Rude? This is the internet. If my snarky response to his abysmal English upsets him, perhaps it will provide positive motivation. Otherwise, I don't care. I like to think I am doing the world a favor. Would you like this guy owning firearms?

I'll count this as extra credit.

  • Is it louder than 9mm pistol?

  • @dvh065 No.

  • I have the exact gun your demo'ing and I love it

  • @bigtxdaddy1975 Can you please give it back? I've been looking for that! :)

  • Haha, can you set phasers to stun on that thing?

I'm actually going to the shop tomorrow to pick up a .22 pistol. Thinking Ruger 22/45, but I might look into this one.

  • To the comment "few pistols not meant for killing people" there are many like that which were already mentioned...however...they will kill people never the less & a gun is better than no gun if that situation happened. On the other hand, it is a fun target gun which I own a 6" version and a Sig Mesquito. The sig does more to improve my grip and trigger control for using more powerfil pistols like my Glocks.

  • @hlgrice The SIG is the latest in a line of "Practice" pistols meant to mimic a larger pistol to some degree and allow cheaper practice. Guns such as the Colt Ace, CZ Cadet, etc. The Neos really belongs in a different class with the Colt Woodsman, Ruger Mk-I, II, III, and Browning Buckmark. The Neos is a 22 pistol designed for shooting 22 shells and not much more. It is very cheap to make and probably has a good profit margin. It's also reliable and there is a 'cool' factor.

  • @hlgrice What do you like better overall the Sig Mosquito or the Beretta Neos

  • @starshipfantastica The SIG fits my hand better, but I've never fired one. Harder to mount optics on the SIG and it's likely less accurate due to shorter sight radius. But, easier to transition to full-size pistol in the end. I'd have to buy the SIG if I needed it. I've owned the Beretta for a while though.

  • Once you get past the futuristic look it seems like a promising small caliber pistol thats cheap and fun to shoot!

  • nice shootin

  • do you recomend this gun for a beginner with handguns

  • @survivalist497 Either that or any number of similar pistols in the same class. The SIG Sauer Mosquito, Ruger MK III, Ruger 22/45, Browning Buck Mark, S&W 22A, etc.

  • me and my dad were both saving for the mark lll hunter and we still are but we love target shooting wether it be skeet or whatever and we had the rifles and the shotguns but no pistol so dad bought one of these for $250 new and im 16 and he gave it to me and the only think i want is those optic sights

  • I have had mine for about a year now . 6" model , Accurate as ANY 22 pistol . Preferrs the cheap federal ammo which is a plus ( $18.99 for 550 at Wal-mart) . Keep it clean and it will go bang every time . My 12 year old son can hit a 6" round target from 50 yards 8 out of 10 times . GREAT GUN FOR THE MONEY ($239.00) !!

  • Why I like this gun: Its one of the few pistols not meant for killing people

  • @ShutUpFoolStudios

Troll. I'll respond with an equally well-thought-out response: "Your mom liked it!"

  • @ShutUpFoolStudios Hand guns are not MEANT to kill people! Good grief!

  • @ShutUpFoolStudios You sir are a troll. No gun was meant for "killing people" they are however, meant for law abiding citizens to defend themselves with. And you are obviously a dumbass when it comes to firearms or you would know the power of .22. I've seen a .22 drop deer in their tracks, more than enough power to be deadly. You have no knowledge or respect for firearms. I suggest you not touch them (or even look at them)

  • It has a bit of a Fn F2000 look in my opinion

  • those neos are just a copy of the browning buck mark, but non the less its still unique in its own way and i wouldnt mined having one

the walther p22 and the ruger mark is still my two favorite though

  • @FullBloodedHmoob

Well, No, it is not a copy of the Buck Mark. They share certain similarities but then so does the Colt Woodsman.

  • @FullBloodedHmoob the Neos is a really good shooting gun. I like it.

  • It can a bit fussy with different brands of ammunition but it's a great little plinker.

  • @DMIMAGE

Mine has nevery misfed or misfired. All 22's to some degree will be fussy with ammunition.

  • @RyeOnHam Yeah after posting, I was thinking it did go through diffeent brands pretty good. I was getting confused with my 597. I have not used my Neo in 5 years.

  • @RyeOnHam

Most 22s are fussy, not all. There is a reason everyone has a Ruger MKII. Mine has fed 30 or 40 different brands without a hiccup while I was looking for something that would feed through th M22 (other than minimags) This neos is a good pistol though. I am curious to know what his was 'fussy' with

  • I have a silver 6 inches barrel now this video make me buy blue

    danggggg Thanks for the video

  • does it jam frequently?

  • @MegaGuitarmaster101

Does it look like it? No.

  • @RyeOnHam i just meant in general

  • @MegaGuitarmaster101

    It's never jammed on me.

  • @RyeOnHam Nice! keep shooting!

  • i have one of these and they are one of the most fun guns to shoot and extremely accurate

  • soo sweet. im getting the long barrel one in about 4 days! cant wait

  • I just put in an order for one of these for my wife and my 10 y/old son. (My 96G is a little hot for them). I love the look of the Neos and the feel of the pistol but I've never seen it in action. Now I have now, thanks to your video, and now I'm even more sure of my decision to buy one.

  • cool stuff. i love the .22lr rounds. ubercheap to shoot. how is the recoil on it. it the video looks like it has a bit more than you would expect from a .22lr.

  • Colt 22 and Neo mags looks same but not compatible

  • i have the 6 inch barrel and i put a dual red dot sight with a laser and love it!

  • I just bought the 6" version......it's a tack driver

  • Nice gun. I recommend actually holding & seeing a gun shoot first before deciding whether or not you like it based on its looks in a magazine.

I have found that holding a gun & seeing it shoot or shooting it yourself can quickly change one's mind.

Firearms that I may not have been attracted to @ first, like the Beretta 92FS, are now awesome to me since I have seen it in person.

Same with this Beretta here. I see it shoot & it looks nice. I am leaning towards a Buckmark Practical URX .22.

  • i have a silver/black 6'' version

    nice little target pistol

  • nice i just got one of these got the 4" i love it i shot it this past weekend i love it

  • I have one of those and love they way the shot.

  • same mag for my Colt 22

  • No, similar looking, but different mag.

  • Is that the 4 or 6 inch barrel?

  • 4" barrel.

  • Dude i really like that..

  • I brought this gun and my friends laughed at me, until I let them shoot it and now they all love it. I have the long barrell and I just purchased the short barrell to train students with! Great gun at great price!

  • Damn.

Looks like a fantastic pistol. Love the hi-vis rear sights. Are there any hi-vis front sight options?

  • hey did you buy it online....... if u did can u give me the wesite........nice video

  • No, I bought it locally. The dealer had to order the 4" barrel but they had a 6" I looked at and my friend had a 4" so I knew what I was getting.

  • @RyeOnHam why did you not want the 6in? their the same price, and the 6 has better accuracy. im getting the 6 soon, but maybe i can switch to a 4 if theres some advantage for a 4

  • @fockya -- The 6" version is two inches longer, quieter, more accurate (due only to the longer sight radius) and balanced more towards the muzzle. I chose the 4" version because the balance was closer to what I am used to. I also like a louder gun. Just me.

  • @RyeOnHam p.s. longer barrel actually is less accurate bc of the uneven affect of the rifling on the bullet, technically since the barrel is less length it affects the trajectory less, but the downside is less speed. So i've been told by numerous sources at least. and yes louder is better.

  • @shams119

    Hard to argue with that.

  • @shams119 So, using your 'logic' a rifle would be wayyyyyy less accurate than a pistol. Right.

  • @BulboLives

For the simpleton (read whatever you'd like into that), a shorter barrel is most often more inherently accurate. There are myriad factors to consider such as shot-to-shot consistency in the ammunition that is amplified with shorter barrels, however if the ammunition is 100% consistent, a shorter barrel of the same thickness is ALWAYS more accurate at any range. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

  • @BulboLives It's a hard concept to grasp, but a longer barrel, all other things being equal, will be LESS accurate. Shorter means stiffer. So long as the rifling has had a chance to catch and spin the barrel, you're alright.

A 4" barrel will be more accurate than a 6" barrel with the same sight radius. WITH THE SAME SIGHT RADIUS. Put a scope on both and you'll see that, from a rest, the 4" will more often be more accurate. You don't see bench-rest folks with 30" barrels for that reason.

  • @RyeOnHam newb question: what kind of measurement is a sight radius?

  • @Smaxey843 Sight Radius is the distance between the rear and front sights. The larger this distance, the more accurate the SIGHTS are. Imagine the absurdity of having the front sight on the target. You'd always get a bullseye. At the other end, imagine the front sight right in the middle of the rear sight. You now have a sight radius of zero and it's impossible to use the sights to hit your target. That's why short barrels shoot less accurately than long, even though they are stiffer.

  • @RyeOnHam stiffer?

  • @Smaxey843 More stiff. More rigid. A barrel will 'whip' when it fires a bullet. This wave will cause the barrel to vibrate in several directions: up and down the barrel, twisting of the barrel, side-to-side, etc. All of this whipping means that minute variations in powder charge, bullet weight, friction, etc. will result in the bullet leaving the barrel at a different point in the vibration frequency, sending it in different directions. A stiffer barrel reduces this. Shorter = Stiffer

  • I use the cheap "Golden Bullet" Remington bulk pack. It's a brick of 500 rounds for under 20$. I didn't have any FTF's out of those, or anything else. Like RyeOnHam, 100%

I shot 200 rounds through it within an hour, and nothing bad became of it, other than I have to buy more ammo soon.

  • Any issues getting it to feed cheap ammo??

  • 100% reliable with everything I've fed it. I've got handfulls of leftover ammo from various shooting sessions that I ran through it, also 100%.

  • would you recommend the six inch version or this one and by the way do you need a license to own one i am 15 and i want one for target practicing.

  • I recommend the 4" barrel unless you are already a very accurate shot. The 4" is likely to shoot much better than you can. 15-year-olds cannot buy handguns in America. Have to be 21. If you prefer to buy one yourself, get an Airsoft to practice with till you're old enough... or have a parent get one you can use under their supervision.

  • thanks i will see if my father will get one for me and i dont intend to use it to kill anyone is this one compatible with .22 shorts. how much did you buy this for and do my parents need a license to get one ?

  • Don't remember the price. $250 or so. No, it will not function properly with .22 shorts. Where you live will decide if your parents need a license or not.

  • would you refer this over the s and w 22a ?

  • I don't have any experience with the S&W. My experience is limited to the Ruger Standard autos.

  • what brand ammo are you shooting?

  • I have no idea. I think it was Remington Bulk.
