some people don't have an uber computer and they disable the sound when they record the gameplay. As even when you record gameplay and you got a decent computer, it still slow down your computer

the commercial release does have a minimap with the classic shroud of darkness in places where there is no ally or building for your team. Minimap works pretty well in commercial release. Remember this is the beta. Check out commercial vids.

If Demigod had, like DotA, countless uncreative details instead of a few impressive designs, it would not be of interest for me.

IMO, the design quantity instead of quality is one of DotAs major flaws, so I think comparing is indeed the right thing here.

graphics can really be described as quantity (more polygons, more lights, more shaders, more effects.... = better graphics). whereas gameplay could be described as quality (more of anything doesnt necessary get you a better result).

It's not really Greek mythology but then lore isn't exactly the selling point of this game. Just let him have his fanboy fit. The game is still going to come out and there are people that were turned off by DotA as well as DotA players and ex-players looking forward to it. DotA had a great concept and people wished it became a game of its own years ago. With this and League of Legends, it looks like it's the beginning of a new genre! Competition will only lead to better quality and more choices.

Judging from the progress of the game it's probably gonna be good fun, at least for a while. I could care less about the lore or graphics. It's also heading away from DotA when LoL seems to have many more similarities. Actually, LoL looks like an improved version of DotA, no longer inside the boundaries of a WC3 custom map. Look at the stats and the awfully similar abilities. I also have a tad more faith in GPG. Still, for all I care I could try both instead of acting like a fanboy of either

At first i was very happy and excited about this game but after seing your video.. meh..

Having MUCH less heroes is not a good concept in my opinion.. The whole point of dota was to learn the heroes skills by heart and then being able to counter that, depending on which hero/player is the best in the game (talking about public games here). In demigod, having only 8 gods, that whole concept is just missing.. The enemy could have any skill on their demigod and you don't even know it. Cont.

Cont. He could have a stun skill. You'd play against such god differently then one without a stun skill but seems like here you don't even know it. I mean i don't own the game, I'm just talkin about first impressions here.. Also, teleport seems WAY too fast, so does healing. And the map doesnt seem complex enough. I mean if you ever played dota, you'll understand. I don't know. The biggest downside was reading about there being like.. a small ammount of avalible heroes.. Well, we'll see soon.

Actually, dota had around 20 heroes at its first release. Approx. Also, I realise it's the beta and all, but I read an interview with the makers of the game and THEY said that the final hero number will be around 8 and that they're putting more effort into making the same heroes have more different skills, which i don't particularly like.

actualy your mistaken the classic dota had about 8 heroes (i know i played it) now if your refering to dota allstars though luck its first release had only 15 heroes and further more i like the ideea of more skills, 2 team mates can pick same hero but they can end up with different skills and different roles for the heroes + who knows they might make patches or expansions and introduce more heroes and lets not forget the most important thing THIS ISNT DOTA (it was just inspired by dota)

Yeah, there's a lot of things missing. A stat/abilities overview of the armor you're wearing would be nice. However, this is a beta and the community is speaking out on the Demigod forums of what to add. I really hope they listen. :)
