amazing video ... ive met Frddy at zschorlau this year. He´s an awesome guy, very friendly and always up for a small talk about the earlier years ... long live Freddy ;)
I just never get tired of this vid. I've always been more impressed with dude who's beating the tar out of the Sabre; just flat-out riding the wheels off that thing.
What can you say about "Fast Freddie" except that he's the Man!
@1212sman YEAH !!^^ I almost abuse mine lol but the point is even though its not a 2 stroke, it is super well built and generally a good bike but no match for the speed of Freddie on his bike......lol, It would be an honor for me to participate in any video homage to this video AND Freddie and the world of Racing on my own stock/mint Sabre or even my 1000cc 84 modernized honda v4 interceptor...this video makes you respect all these machines and the operaters of them...it's awesome! :)
thats awesome... shows how much cars and bikes have come... this is 25years ago (or thereabouts)... nowdays there isnt much between a streetbike and a Moto GP bike... and even some of the cars mite give em a run!!
Close. There's very little difference (in terms of frame, geometry, etc) between streetbikes and WSBK bikes; WSBK rules demand that the bikes raced must have homologated versions, i.e. CBR1000RR, GSX-R1000. Look at WSBK and the bikes all clearly have distinct roots in those bikes. MotoGP, on the other hand, is like F1., all purpose built.
Freddie, I went to school couple years behind him at Grawood in Keithville, La. The guy was kind and humble. In 5th grade he took up for me once. He played sports. I never saw him get mad. He gave his best at everything he did. Never knew anyone who didn't like him. It was no surprise to discover the success he would become(or why he dated the head cheerleader). I think he was bound for it no matter what he did. I've met a few famous characters, but Freddie was best of them.
come do come PLEASE STARSGORKI here's my adres stupid fuck Doornzele dries 69 9940 Evergem put your money where youre mouth is fucking piece of shit!!tell me where you live in the netherlants i will come 2you faggot.oh right you won't tell me coz youre a big fat pussy.and euh tell daddy to wash his dick you smell out of your mouth hahaha he will come to me he says HAHAHAHAHA
The bike that still even today makes all others look silly, shake in their boots and piss in their pants.... all from a 500cc 2 stroke machine, 2 Stroke for life, allways have been allways will be!
Not too long ago I heard an explanation for carpal tunnell syndrome that seems to fit, at least for me.
It is a psychological condition, where someone has an intense fear that they cannot hold onto something very important to them, as a result the tendons grow and increase in width, and can eventually cause this condition.
If this was the case for Freddie then perhaps it was the fear of loosing his title that led to the end of his career.
Freddie Spencer was incredible in '83 and '85, Honda built a stupid pig of a bike in '84 which was almost unrideable, even for Freddie.
However, Eddie Lawson had been beating Honda and Freddie in the AMA, and took the '84 title, and early in '86 it was obvious there was something terribly wrong with Spencer, it turned out he had developed a severe case of carpal tunnell syndrome, which deadens all feelings in the hands after a few laps...
A lot of top riders come from AMERICA . I am a fan of any racers nationality unimportant to me. The sport is the sport and this is THE SPORT OF KINGS when we talk about bike racers. Was it mike spencer who raced in the honda team in the early 80's [possibly late 70's] Anyways Freddie is a much loved champion and remembered well!!
Freddie was "THE MAN" full stop. He was the Velentino to the young guys of today. A true enigma. He Burnt out fast but when he was on fire he was untouchable! Red White and Blue Arai. Dainese Demon on his back. 21 Years old and world champion. A girlfriend to die for. Christian looks and lines not even Kenny could follow. THE MAN.
I had the chance to meet him at the 80' Daytona 200. Being my favorite rider I thought he might be willing to sign my program. He went one better and took a picture and gave me a sweet HRC hat. I can say at the time for a 14 year old it was the biggest thrill. He was the coolest dude, not just racer I ever met.
They copied this on Plop Gear with an F1 car, a rally car and Clarkson in a road car thing. They even did the whole 'putting on the helmet' thing too.
I hope Jeremy Clarkson chokes on massive man meat. Bikers hate it because it doesn't like bikes, and now Americans hate it for generalizing all of America based on LOUISIANA!? Even Americans hate Louisiana! Dear Jeremy, So sorry about those thugs you met over here. Next time, I'm sure they'll do better and finish the job.
