Vanunu got little, if any money, and simply presented proof of what everyone knew (that Israel had nuks) to an international newspaper. Yes, every country that maintains a nuclear should be inspected by the IAEA on a regular basis...wasn't that the idea? I thought countries that denied having a program (i.e. Iraq & Israel) were in violation on this agreement and should be invaded? A "mature and responsible democracy"...won't even dignify a response to that insane comment. Tell the people in that open air prison camp called the Gaza strip how responsible the Israeli govt is to their plight.

Also, many people try to paint this struggle as an "islamic jihad against a pro-western israel", while in fact it is not. The middle eastern/arab christians (and even many arab jews) are against israel. Lebanon and Palestine have a very large number of Christians who are just as against Israel as the muslims. The fact that muslims are generally in the majority does not make it a war between Islam and Judaism. It's a struggle by arab muslims and christians, agaisnt jewish occupation.

Israel responded with GUIDED missles which specifically targeted terrorists who use children as their shields. Nukes? I think YOU should worry about muslim terrorists in the USA & Europe using a nuke dirty bomb in the next year, maybe you'll then realize that "it will do virtually nothing", to the terrorist mind which r ready to murder millions so their religion dominates western civilization.
As for Israel's response, just bec. miracles happen, doesn't absolve Hamas from premeditated MURDER.

ANY map that u have which says PALESTINE is not the name of a PEOPLE, but a COUNTRY which was once called JUDEA, or ISRAEL. Palestine was called such by the Romans who conquered the native Jewish people-nation that has continued to "occupy" the land for the past 3500 yrs. The arabs are recent squatters who have no right to be in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon. All these "countries" did NOT exist as independent entities as they were ALL part of JUDEA or Israel.

Yes, it's interesting how the US presidency has become a "puppet regime" to actors behind the scenes. The pro-israeli's are the largest political minority in USA, & this gives them great political power. No president can come to power without their support. While the majority of americans are equally divided between candidates, this "largest minority" casts the deciding vote. The result is the lack of a democracy - and USA answering to Israel - ridiculous, considering its such a powerful nation.

Yes. as Noam Chomsky pointed out, even Obama's speech to AIPAC "broke records in obsequiousness." It's interesting how early on when he stated that nobody had suffered as much as palestinians, he was accused of anti semitism (never mind that palestinians are more semitic than the so-called jews), he actually had to make apologies because of this. Some people thought he would make a difference, but it seems even he can't break away from the powers at work keeping US presidency in check.

You can't respond to mortar and rocket attacks from Gaza with a nuke! Those are weapons of a completely different magnitude. If a nuke were ever used by Israel it would kill hundreds of thousands if not millions of people in less than a second! Hundreds of Qassam rockets fired over a long period of time have done virtually nothing by comparison.
