This song was nominated for a grammy as the best rock song of 1999. It was not a grammy winner. However, Dan did win a grammy for his work with the Dixie Chicks in 2007. As I understand, he graduated summa cum laude from Harvard.
For years I have loved Trip Shakespeare, since life in Iowa and Madison(can you say Honey Tree?)and then I absorb this video. I know Dan will probably never see this, but I hope he'll feel a tiny dazzle in his energy that is this moment, when I see him after twenty years and he is singing about kids, goddamnit! and I know exactly of what he speaks. Love him still and thanks for stirring an 'old' (38?) girl's heart with a new thought/wave pattern of a song I thought I knew.
Dan Wilson is one of my favorite songwriters.

This was an amazing experience seeing an amazing musician preform live accompanied by the entire orchestra. Great food too.
