Can you do a "reversal" with a normal attack? I hate it when someone charges a focus attack as I'm getting up and I have no wake up moves so I just get hit as I stand because I cannot block it and I cannot hit them twice or jump in time.

i just fucking hate street fighter 4's combo system. It's not that it takes skill to do the combos. You can memorize and execute a combo easy, but it's just u have to be so damn fast. I fucking have a broken D-Pad on my PS3 controller that's all messed up because of constant half circles. My hands have blisters if i play street fighter. Shit lol

@SilentPhenomed It's difficult, but rewarding. And although the characters themselves may not be perfectly balanced, I think the fighting system definitely is. There's a way out of everything, and a chance for real mastery if you devote yourself to it.

@Hitsyfication It's not difficult IMO. It's easy, but there's a lot of room for error. And that's messed up because my thumbs aren't super tiny. I'm not buying a fight stick for SF4. That's a rip off to me. Yeah sure it'd be better because the size of my hands would not be something so bad when it comes to doing SF combos, but the fight sticks are 60 bucks!!

If I want to do a shoryuken, I somehow do a super move. But its not even like its my lack in skill, its just my hand size.

So far so good, but I've seen you've missed only two basic points

Explaining the special bar (Basic for FADC) (FADC=Focus Attack Dash Cancel)

Damage bonuses

FADC takes one half off the special bar, thusly, you're able to FADC only twice.

As for damage bonuses:

You take extra damage when you block a move with hyper armor, regardless you'll recover it over time.

You take extra damage on armor break.

You take extra damage if hit by a counter hit.

Not meaning to troll. Great videos, keep it up. :)

okay so at 2:19 what combo did Ryu do there? From what I can see I think he did this: (please correct me if I'm wrong!)

Focus attack (3rd stage)> D-pad right + Hard Punch> Shoryuken> Focus Cancel > Ultra

@farhannius You're right! It's called Forward Hard Punch, not "d-pad right", and as a move, its called solar plexus.

The shoryuken was a light one. (Every move varies with the button used to activate it: light, medium or hard)

Focus Cancel is often shortened to FADC, which means Focus Attack Dash Cancel.

Once you get deeper in the game, vocabulary is a basic need for it. If you wanna play anytime, I play both SFIV and SSFIV. gamertag: Darukani.

And you are more vulnerable when you are jumping. Just my thoughts :P

I've thrown and then focus attacked Zangief a record of 8 times consecutively and he could do nothing about it in the corner.

@HornetFellow it doesn't work that way. to focus cancel used one gauge of your super meter, so if you have a full super meter you can only focus cancel a maximum of 4 times.
