I appreciate your maturity regarding the whole Four Loko flap. Your opinion of why the politicians acted as they did is correct. What happened in Washington is not however a tragedy, but a display of Darwinism. Four Loko has paid the price for a lack of personal responsibility in our country. Actually, Four Loko rolled over and played dead putting half of the blame on them for caving in to the pressure. The FDA would be happy to know that I didn't start drinking Four Loko until their "ban."
@troobie I honestly think phusion just didn't have the resouces to fight the craziness and the owners decided they might lose no matter what. Oh well - thanks for watching and commenting.
I've been meaning to watch this video for a while but somehow never ended up doing it until now. GREAT video, you express your point very well and I couldn't agree more.
@sergio2279 You're absolutely correct. Since I am a collector, I had five other Lokos and randomly chose the grape. I almost hurled on the blue raspberry. The orange to me was pretty bad too. I never did get to try to lemonade or the lemon-lime so I'll take your word on that. Aside from the grape the fruit punch was ok to me too. Thanks for watching and cheers!
good vid...i dont see how banning one drink is gon' make a difference...people are still gonna drink "caffeinated" alocholic drinks. a vodka redbull is 10X worse then a four loko.....people drink them selves to death everysingle day! this is the exact reason the only intoxicant that goes in my body is marijuana. on top of that being native american, i have alcoholism in my genes...if you were to offer me a 5$ joint over a 8$ mix drink at the bar....ima smoke! KEEP 'EM COMING! :D
@redskinwreckin Thanks for watching and for the insightful comment. I mentioned getting laws changed and right near the top of the list is marijauna. Even though I don't partake I still think the current laws make no sense. There are a whole lot worse things people LEGALLY put in their bodies than at little weed yet they put you in jail for a couple grams.
What needs to happen is more people understand and I think we'll get there - it's just education takes time.
Hey glad to see you back retroman. A seasoned Vet like yourself has a respectable and insightful opinion on this issue. If they take away our 40Oz that will indeed be a sad day for humanity.
I'll disagree with you on the premise that it's been banned due to the inherent danger of a 12% caffeinated beverage. Honestly to me it seems like that whole idea was put forth as a false representation of the government's position on the issue. To me it seems much more likely that the beverage was targeted for its profit margin in regards to macro beers that indicated it posed a significant threat to large breweries.
@Nuglord Interesting notion that I don't necessarily agree with but understand and respect. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Cheers!
@Retroman40 Keep in mind that there is absolutely no evidence that caffiene + alcohol = death. Miller dealt with the same issue a few years ago from a watchdog group that was up in arms because of some survey done at Wake Forest (in my opinion a biased demographic). I feel convinced the FDA wouldn't (and from what I've seen usually doesn't) get involved unless there is inherent toxicity or something more serious than college kids getting wasted, or, (and IMO more likely) something to be gained.
@Nuglord OK - I see what you're saying and it certainly is plausable. I don't believe there is any evidence that caf + alc = death either. I think the FDA is being pushed around by the likes of that senator from NY. I'm just not sure it's anything more than policital grandstanding and bureaucratic health "experts" doing some knee-jerk reactions. I think if a macro like InBev or MillerCoors was that interested, they could have just make Phusion "an offer they couldn't refuse".

I'de fight to keep my 40's. What you say is very true, I'm not in favor of the government having any control of what I put in my body.
