  • Our history teacher had us watching this in the early 70s.

  • this should have 2 million views

  • This is a small part of why we need our own schools or at minimum after school classes.

  • I saw this in my television production class at SouthWest College. I was 19 yrs old... great video.

  • I saw this movie when I was in second grade in class. I was one of two black children.

  • This is amazing. If I were a teacher, I'd DEFINATELY show this to my class.

  • I'm really glad I saw this.

  • Omg, why is this not re-aired on television? People really need to see this.

  • I'm proud

  • Profound! simply Profound. Our rich heritage stolen. Stealing us was there greatest achievement! smh!

  • And I quote: "Alot people thought "we" black people were going to wash white, but "we" ain't gonna. Ha' that was funny as all get out. Bill Cosby was not playing. Power to the all the Hebrews/Israelites: Say it' LOUD ! ! " I'm BLACK and I'm PROUD ! !

  • Without black people, this world would suck ass. And I'm not black

  • Bill did that!

  • What a rich history of the Black Race. I was never taught of their great accomplishments....ever. They are indeed a great, and powerful people.

  • matthew henson is related to taraji p henson

  • Mr Bill Cosby you are among the greatest Americans and I love you and aprreciate your commitment is making people's life easier. I was wondering if you offer any classes or lectures on black history and when will you launch a TV for such things are blacks

  • @nicolaij100 You do realize that many Africans were not kidnapped, but willingly traded by their tribal chiefs as barter for goods that the Europeans had. Many free blacks willingly took up arms against the North during the Civil War. Also many white Americans (myself included) had ancestors who came to the USA decades after the Civil War. Alex Hailey was sued (& he lost) for plagerism over his book Roots. It was over 80 pages of a novel called The African that ended up in his book Roots.

  • Black people today, are kings and queens....A fact that we need to encourage our children to be!

  • Black people in Ancient egypt and Africa were kings and queens and all our math and architecture science and religion comes from us... but tellem what you want

  • A lesson for all

  • The black woman was named "Calafia" a Black Amazon Queen --

  • This video needs to be updated. Someone needs to explain to me how Ghetto Culture became to the dominate image of Black Americans from 1993 - 2009. With the rise of Obama, destructive Hip Hop is tapering off finally.

  • that`s the first time i`ve seen Bill Cosby speak for more than 5 minutes without introducing a distant family member who`s a jazz musician ;)

some of the "stolen" art in the first video were a little tenuous (to me anyway), but overall these videos contain some very interesting stuff! Certainly highlights the truth in "history is written by the victors" (or at least those perceived to be the victors at the time)

    thanks for sharing these Brothahaneef!

  • @HellenicWarrior10 OK SO YOU JUST TOOK EGYPT AND THE PYRAMID OUT OF AFRICA ..

  • Comment removed

  • @pookiebear97 i was hoping you would follow up but here's the info

Black Amazons of The West Had A Queen Named “Califia” Where The Name “California” Came From.It is well documented that of the 44 people who founded the City of Los Angeles, 26 were of Afrikan descent

an image of her can be viewed at California Dreams at Disneyland California Adventure were she is depicted with a bear sitting by her, holding a golden light that touches all people blessing them with talents

  • outstanding vid!

  • First of all there is no such thing as person with a skin tone that is black. May be very dark brown but not black. We are brown people, we are the color of the earth.

  • I've been looking for this since like 2003....Amazon wanted 50 bux for it so i said forget about it....so props for this man.

  • California itself was named after a black woman-I need to find the article I had on it.

Black people it's time for us to get it together.

  • @pookiebear97 Damn right it is!!! Black Power!!

  • @pookiebear97 queen califia dude

  • @pookieb You re wrong, California means "hot oven" or Cali fornax in latin. The name was given by spanish monks around 1500 and its an obvious reference to the hot weather. There s another version about an imaginary place in Africa, it appears in the epic poem Chanson du Roldan (E cil d'Affrike e cil de Califerne). It has not to do with african women, its just an european idea about Africa. Anyway the name was given by spanish missioniaries. Historical precision instead legends is the best.

  • Excellent posting BrotherHaneef. When my children finish school tomorrow I will let them sit down and watch this.

  • everyone should see this, absolutely everyone. its damaging to not know this for all races

  • @EmpoweredByKnowledge I so agree.. I feel deeply sorry about the fact that so little is understood regarding the contributions of each "family" of the One HUMAN race. Each segment has blessings that it alone holds and by learning and sharing freely without borders we might gain a greater wisdom together. Do not blame nor curse a color.. rather blame Greed and Ego of a few in each who have created dissention and hold not the whole responsible for the few. I value all families of this one race

  • slavery was cruel because it broke up families?????

bloody hell that's a nice way to put it

how about just the middle passage alone?

made the "jewish holocaust" look like a birthday party

there is no words to describe what made the slavery in america and the west so cruel

  • Correction...Sorry everybody.I meant "our rich history!!"and "some more young ones" Sometimes I screw up my words...DAMN!! I feel like a idiot!!!...Sorry!!

  • Norbert Rillieux was a white-man.. He was the son of a white plantation owner named Vincent Rillieux. His mother was a free slave but that doesn't make him black, genetics come mainly from the male gene. Besides the pic of him is a white man

  • One drop of Black blood makes you Black. As Cosby himself put it "We own the whole child" when it comes it comes to interracial offspring.

  • @bornwithaBA:

You know that the "One drop" saying comes from plantation owners and slavers.

It was a way to get more slaves and to control people, not something based on scientific, biological fact.

  • Black people,we need to stop thinking that white people are going to teach or display rich our history...It won't HAPPEN!!!...As I'm watching this brillant video,I'm writing all this information down,so I can tell this to my little nieces and nephew...Then,I'm going to share this with so more young ones, and family...If we know our history,we would be more aware and proud of who we are as a people...Self hate NO MORE!!!...Thanks 4 sharing this.....My SPIRIT HAS LIFTED...1LUV!!!!!!!

  • Brothahaneef great post i saw this back in 2004 in a summer class

  • Beautiful Video, Exposing the devil in a raw format, without sounding upset or fighting, I give it 5 star.

There is virtually nothing the pink 'white" man said against us that was or is true, they twisted everything to give things the picture they wanted us to have.

When a society is build on evil crimes that they made look nice to their own, there is virtually nothing these demons can say against their victims that is true.

Brown people must know that the pink man is the devil

  • We need to hold a youtube video awards. & you Brothahaneef should the win most consistant & relevant. No disrespect to any other content providers its all love.

    Peace, hotep, islam, Shalom

    aka

    Order my people!!!

  • Hotep Brothahaneef

  • Word! Bill Cosby dropping knowledge...I thought he was a Boule member...

  • this must have been before he became a death deserving traitor

  • OH MY GOODNESS!! I am so glad that you posted this.. I wanted it before and looked for it on Pirate Bay, but no one had posted it. Thanks Brothahaneef!

  • "What a subject for meditation, just think that the race of black men today our slaves and the object of our scorn, is the very race to which we owe our arts, science and even the use of our speech."

    -Count Constatin de Volney (1727-1820)

  • I'm glad he showed the comparisons on how every other culture steals and in some cases is influenced by our African culture and it's never given the credit it deserves but @ 8:29 Picasso has always been a fan of African art.

  • I have felt my strongest artistic emotions, when suddenly confronted with the sublime beauty of sculptures executed by the anonymous artists of Africa. These works of a religious passionate, and rigorously logical art are the most powerful and most beautiful things the human imagination has ever produced. I hasten to add that, nevertheless, I detest exoticism

    -Pablo Picasso

  • what ever happened to this brotha???

  • @kuongjah7

The Khazars put a hit out on his Son because like Dr. Leonard Jeffries he started telling our people the truth so TPTB had to retaliate.

  • interesting take " the Khazars". I had to google it but I get your point. Dr. Jeffries is one of my favorite, took a class with him at Jersey State back in the day. "Khazars" got to remember that one.

  • I knew we (you know what I mean) invented alot but damn! A BLACK ESKIMO. blackman founded chi-town. Fuck it I'ma say we went to the moon 1st and invented the rocketship.

  • You didn't know a brother founded chi-town? Some of Los Angeles's first settlers were African folks as well. Find yourself a good black bookstore or a Barnes & Noble with a great AA section. You will find some treasures. That is my favorite section of the bookstore. I could go broke in there.

  • I tend to focus on economics and books such as THE ISIS PAPERS & Neely Fuller the united indpendant conspenatory code/system/concept. So I can have th deeper mening OF WHY they do what they do to us and what are the options that I can take before using the last resort (violence).

  • ya thanks man, LOVE!!!

  • i have this..

i would have uploaded it at first if i knew how to convert video cassete onto computer.

  • And this is only in the U.S., you still got the whole of the diaspora and Africa itself. We are a people under a psychological spell.

  • Thank-you for reminding me of what made me fall in love with black history in the first place. Documentories like this and others were our very first black history lessons. And I have been stuck on learning about black history ever since.

  • Edutainment > entertainment!!

  • good vids needed

  • Thank you!

  • great post and im on it!!!!

  • Thanks for uploading brotha!

  • rest assured, these crackaz chickens are on their way home to roost in a big way

and yes amerikkka will PAY, HARSHLY.......

and to those still in denial.......

as Bobby E Wright once said

"Blood debts are best paid in Blood"

lest ye deniers might want to find good place to hide.......
