IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with the fins evolving (transitioning) into feet. What survival benefit would there be? APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creatures anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged-pawed dog-like creatures. i love people always assume that you need to believe in some religion in order to believe in god, and that the only god that could exist is one that has a religion behind it. there's always the posibility someone went back in time to create the universe, making him/her technically god. a disbelief in religion isn't the same as a disbelief in the potential for a god to exist...
I'm not sure when this show originally aired, but I see this video was posted a little more than a year before Carlin died. I do know one thing however, Carlin certainly believes there is a God now.

@derobmai "Some free thinkers believe in a god too." Then technically they're not free-thinkers. To be a free-thinker means to have a mind free of being polluted by any god or higher power. Any god someone believes in is an authority figure, so in order to be a free-thinker, your mind has to be free of having an authority figure to be accountable for.

The definition of "free thinker" is :one who forms opinions on the basis of reason independently of authority; especially :one who doubts or denies religious dogma... These people giving the thumbs up have already independently formed there own opinion about god, they're just agreeing with me.

Of Christians, not all believe the bible is inerrant, not all "follow" it. There are some Christians that don't believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ. There are many many types of Christians in the world. Why is it atheists don't see or respect that?

If one claims observation to be sole valid criterion to verify evidence, then one EITHER (finds it insufficient yet) insists on a self-refuting requirement against believers (and begs the question), OR (finds it sufficent so) insists on an all-encompassing power of our senses to possibly observe all truth, yet denies the brain was intelligently designed (an inconsistency)

NATURAL SELECTION DOESN'T PRODUCE ANYTHING. It can only "select" from what is produced that has survival value. If a variation occurs that helps a species survive, that survival is called being "selected." That's all it is. There's no conscious selection by nature. It's a passive process. Natural selection is a figure of speech. The term itself is a tautology. Natural selection only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before. Natural selection operates only once there is life and reproduction, not before, so it couldn't have been involved in life's origins. A partially-evolved cell (an oxymoron) would quickly disintegrate. It couldn't wait ("survive") millions of years for chance to complete it and then make it alive! IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with the fins evolving (transitioning) into feet. What survival benefit would there be? The fish couldn't use its fins or its feet, and there are no fossils showing such a creature ever existed. They only exist on automobile bumper stickers! APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creatures anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged-pawed dog-like creatures. And these are facts, Euripides took out a bunch of books of the bible and changed it how he wanted it, and that was just one of the times the bible was altered. ALL REAL EVOLUTION ( i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.) in nature is the expression, over time, of already existing genes. Evolution is possible only if there’s information (genes) directing it. Only variations of already existing genes are possible, which means only limited evolution and adaptations are possible. Any god someone believes in is an authority figure, so in order to be a free-thinker, your mind has to be free of having an authority figure to be accountable for.

Of Christians, not all believe the bible is inerrant, not all "follow" it. There are some Christians that don't believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ. There are many many types of Christians in the world. Why is it atheists don't see or respect that?

@floetry613 You may believe what you want; if that makes you happy and you don't force your beliefs on others, that's fine. I just wanted to show you that the bible contains not only "virtue", but evil as well, and if you read the whole thing without bias you would see it as well. As long as you aren't willing to hurt or to kill, or to force your beliefs on your children or others you know just because of what a silly book or stranger says, than I respect your belief.

My paradox:
If one claims observation to be sole valid criterion to verify evidence, then one EITHER (finds it insufficient yet) insists on a self-refuting requirement against believers (and begs the question), OR (finds it sufficent so) insists on an all-encompassing power of our senses to possibly observe all truth, yet denies the brain was intelligently designed (an inconsistency)

@rangergxi Why don't you atheist make worshiping God illegal? Make sure that churches start paying taxes owed to the Government and state that God is nothing more than a fantasy? Then see how many millions of Christians will react. Many atheist tried to cancel "Touched by an Angle", but failed due to many believers. You atheist need to work a little harder! You are nothing but failures in God' eyes!

Because unlike others, we do not believe in thought crime. You are free to have your own personal beliefs. I would prefer it if you had rational beliefs, but I will always give you the freedom to believe as you wish. As long as you don’t harm me or anyone else, what you do isn’t a damage, and shouldn’t be treated as so.
