I quite like this version, I think it is underrated, and Sean gets big kudos as Vronsky. I seem to always find myself grading the AK versions in relation to I like the Vronsky's...it usually follows that I will like the Anna IF I like the Vronsky. But if I don't like the Vronsky I can't possibly like the Anna.
Love how Vronsky pursues Anna almost to stalking her...the intensity of their attraction must be played out even to their own ruin. That's powerful. Amore, Tolstoi.
Because deep inside she knew she was doing something wrong, immoral. She also didn't want to have children with him. It was passion which never evolve into real love. This kind of passion is always self-destructive. The conlfict between morality and passion creates this tragic ending. Anna Karenina is a complex novel with some profound understanding of human psychology. And not a Holywood film.
@SyzyfowyPracownik because she probably felt in danger to be left for that princess..i don.t think moralitz has its place in here, otherwise she would kept the promise toward her husband
@SyzyfowyPracownik i have the feeling that she renounced to that little hope to not be hurted once again. she renounced him before he will renounce her...tolstoi wasn.t dostoiewski, so that he could be known for moralising novels..
Latin "O Fortuna velut Luna" (Translation "O Fortune like the Moon" ) Turn around and smell what you don't see Close your eyes ... it is so clear Here's the mirror, BEHIND there is a screen On both ways you can get in Don't think twice before you listen to your heart Follow the trace for a new start
As usual, Enigma never fails to add deep insight into the human nature... as to Tolstoy, who could have better depicted all the strong emotions and the desire for love, as well as the moral depths that lie within the human nature, often, as depicted in Ana Karenina, in deep conflict with each other...

Anna Karennina is a dirty slut.....i read the book and she's a 19th century ho...and why the hell do these actors speak with English accents.....why the hell not Russian it ain't that hard....still Tolstoy is the MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
For lilyanne111... I've just finished reading AK & you're right. she never cuts her hair. Let me guess, maybe in the Director's book she did??? The video & the music are OK. Thanks for sharing... Greetings...
maybe i'm mistaken but i don't rememeber her cutting her hair in the book...i've watched the movie too, and in the movie she cut her hair...i don't remember that... maybe i missed it or something... heh
i cannot find myself to say that this song does not go with either the book, or the movie. for me the song and the book are going perfectly together.:):):):):):):)))))))))))))))
this is great job) Очень обидно ) что картина не наша хотя можем, можем и должны! ) Yet Karenia is fabulous great actor pick , russian love in action)

Film - " crap out on ". She is not similar on Kareniny. What not a talented actress. Her should play the courtesan. Up to a level of princess it does not pull. "commonplace, banality"
" One of the most beautiful and sad love stories I ever read. A masterpiece by Tolstoy. " it not history of love. Stupid foreigners. You are not able to read Russian writers. When the woman throws the child and family for the sake of the muzhik, and then understands that it is nonsense, she perishes. It also wished to tell Tolstoi. Read critics on its books. They too have emphasized this idea. If you do not think
niki - if you really respect the genius of Tolstoy's work you would understand that it is open to many interpretations by many different readers. It is such a well-realised book that it can be understood in multipe ways.
I haven't seen this film version with S Marceau but i would like to. Looks very good
One of the most beautiful and sad love stories I ever read. A masterpiece by Tolstoy. She followed her heart and found her self-destruction.Sad and scary, very scary.
this is a nice video. Thanks for the post! I'm in the middle of reading the novel, and thus far I am impressed with the quality of Count Leo Tolstoy's work. The character development and subtleties even in translation are worth taking the time for these 700+ pages.
This is one of my favorite novels, i've read it a few times. And the casting is very good Also this video was well made. I like how they started the story backward.
hehe :) u pravu si za nepretpostavljenu pretpostavku... malo je tako emotivnih muskaraca ;)), naravno da ti oprastam :D a gdje ti zivis? imas li ti taj film kojim slucajem? :)

Tolstoy has written also another ending of this story, without Anna's suicide.
Interesting, why He finally decide to publicate this suicide version.
For the commercial, tragic effect ?
I couldn't ever understand, why She didn't stay with Him...?
