Dont tell me that is all silk. I know much. I know enough to know that the sun can shine and can also reflect ones medals, but i do not know why or how, the samurai obtain lenins of any material for their culture. They are obviously cotton like, highly superior. Defined and dehardened. However, all I can think of is silk. Which would be impossible. Due to the chinese silk trade which is simular to diamonds and gasoline.
I cannot wait to see that! looking forward to the Yabusame, for those who have not seen it before it is quite different to Kyudo and worth taking a look.
Its nice to see the Shinto aspect of traditional Japan as it so so often overlooked by the Buddhist aspects of so many martial arts. I would love to see more.
stay tuned then as I have another archery event video to put together and right now I putting together a kind of music video for yabusame - mounted archery shinto ritual
Thats very important! Next year I went to Japan (I hope so that my money is enough) with my girlfriend. We here in Germany are so lucky and happy that we found our past from the middleage. Knigthly, proud and honor is here in our group the first thing..... but in front of this... the fun! You see it in my videos.... and the video fromredsquirill. So then, I look more from your videos!... and make my coments ;-)
at the Shourinzan temple, Takasaki, you can find the monument which were carved with "Ich liebe die japanische Kultur" by Bruno Taut 1933. and a house by him at Atami.
Eugen Herrigel from Germany 1924, he has written on the subject of Zen and Yumi.
"Die ritterliche Kunst des Bogenschiessens" "Zen in der Kunst des Bogenschiessens"
archery was a sport that many women throughout japanese history took part. Many female members of samurai family were expected to be ready to defend their home or family so they learned martial arts particalurly the bow and naginata.
thanks for the comment and rating! Check out the link to my blog I recently added which has more info on Momote Shiki. Hope the subtitles weren't too difficult to read!

Awesome form of archery.

No thanks. Too self conscious for me and a tad fruity.
The mounted archery has greater appeal.

The arrow leaves the string:
It may not hit,
But it does not miss!
Fascinating. Thanks for uploading, RoninDave.

The Mortal Kombat character?

No. "Baraka (1992) is a Todd-AO (70 mm) non-narrative film directed by Ron Fricke." (Wikipedia)... Find it, is a real piece of art. ^^
