  • I made something like this from an aluminum match container. I took a real pine cone, cut all the little petels off, snipped the pointy (inner) ends off them, and then went along with a hot glue gun and stuck them around the tube in concentric circles. When the tube was covered, I glued the end portion of the original pine cone to the end of the match tube and it looks pretty real. It hangs on the same blue spruce I got the original cone from.   • And yeah, this guy is selling these things. He shows you what they look like, though, so you could build them yourself if you're handy. A lot of folks (like many of my cache friends) aren't handy, though. And having made some similar to his, I can attest he isn't charging much more than cost of materials and they look pretty well built. Cool stuff!
