@JVA92 there are a ton. most Billy's don't last as long as he did, because they have to be a certain age and if their voice cracks they can't do it anymore. it's a very demanding role. most theaters have 3-5 Billy's at once.

i am a girl and i still think Billy has to be a boy for the show to make sense. its rare a boy enjoys ballet and shows it, but nothing is wrong for loving dance as a boy, thats something the show is trying to prove. It shows there are no rules to dance and boys shouldnt be afraid to enjoy it.. Its saying you dont have to be a girl to dance. and putting a girl as Billy would ruin the point.

best birthday i have had without a doubt. im 18 now and only came across this video again because of the tony awards tonight and after a few vids i ended up here.....amazing memories, by far the most intense musical i have seen.

I saw it finally in Toronto. The cast is amazing. But the music is wanting. Don't get me wrong. I find Elton's musical writing didn't strike me like Lion King (I can watch this musical a million times) or Aida. Here I find no musical gems except Electricity. But this is a dance and acting musical. You have to see if for yourself just to know if you like it or not.

Why is it that when they filmed him singing, they show a nice steady shot so we as an audience can watch properly, but as soon as he starts dancing, they decide to start cutting back and forth, panning, zooming, even filming the empty chairs at one point. Camera people TAKE NOTE: dance is ALREADY VISUALLY INTERESTING you don't have to go crazy with camera work to 'make it interesting'. I think I was dizzier than Liam Mower was, and I wasn't doing pirouettes, or back-handsprings!

Yes, Liam did the Original Cast Recording of BETM which is from the London show - they didn't do a Broadway version. The boys didn't alternate songs, I didn't see the others perform but I guess they thought Liam had the best singing voice of the three original Billy's.

And sometimes they can alternate between songs...like this billy gets to record this song, that Billy gets to record that song, ect. Other times...the producers, record companies, or directors might just choose the best vocal quality. It really just depends on which one will people want to really listen to and hear, which goes opposite for the show as it focuses more on dancing and acting ability.

It's absolutely amazing. I read a book once where they described a character as not beautiful at all. You think she's beautiful when she speaks, but then after you realize she isn't.
