HFCS is pure poison. Sugar, is just not that healthy for you - empty calories. HFCS is ONLY metabolized by the liver - like alcohol. It can damage your liver and other organs and causes the pancreas to stop producing insulin, which causes Type II Diabetes. Everything you hear from corporations are lies!

BLAME THE GOVERNMENT

They raised sugar prices, which forced companies to switch to a cheaper substitute. They tried corn syrup (glucose) but it wasn't sweet enough, so they added fructose to it. - It's the fructose that is the poison (almost as bad as ethanol).

The government needs to drop the price on sugar, so it will be cheap enough to put in our foods again. Just like the rest of the world's food..

So if drinking one can of HFCS soda can increase the chances of getting T2D by 80%, than drinking four cans a day as many young people do can increase this possibility to something like 95%, I'll bet.

When the man said it "supresses hunger", I think he meant to say that it supresses satiety, so you think you're still hungry when in fact your body has had enough food.

That hunger thing surprised me, I have done HFCS for years since it is in most of the liquids and foods I consume. However, I am thin, I have never gotten any kind of 'need more food' thoughts running through me due to this stuff.

I guess the old saying is true, 'DRINK WATER' from a well, not in a bottle or city.

UGH, unflavored liquid never settled well with me.

You probably have an unusually resilient insulin/ glucose metabolism. Fructose interferes with this metabolism, and with HFCS soda, you get a lot of fructose that hits your system intensely and immediately. I think that's why so many people are FAT in the USA as opposed to other countries. Jones Soda and those "vitamin water" drinks are sweetened with real sugar, BTW. HFCS and NutraSweet, like many poisons, are also addictive.

Great Product placement!! There is over 35 years of hard empirical evidence, in addition to this latest study, showing refined man-made fructose like HFCS metabolizes to triglycerides and adipose tissue, not blood glucose.

When you say an increased chance of liver damage and diabetes, is that compared compared to table sugar or compared to no sugar? That is, if I had a soft drink with table sugar in it and one with hfcs in it, would the one with table sugar be better for me? Or is it just that over-consuming any kind of sugar is bad. Links to studies would be great. Just trying to get the facts here!

sugar is better than HFCS not much but comes from sugar cane. HFCS is developed to create addiction & can be done way cheaper that sugar.

I been reading that processed sugar is not so good at all.

I never say to use the artificial stuff like nutri or sweetlow or any of the others that claim to be better than sugar, those are much worse and has lots more deadly chemicals.

CHEMRISK - a research company hired by the Corn Refiners has recently taken down it's YouTube page.

The removal was in response to negative public perception resulting from the high-fructose corn syrup ad campaign. Apparently it has become a liability to defend the sweetener.

I hate HFCS. Why do the food manufacturers treat us like animals eating slop on a farm? I'd rather pay more for high-quality food than pay less for something that's so unhealthy.
