@Swax6302 if you keep your shoulders squared at take off and don't let them dip to one side as you leave the ground you normally go straight. Another thing is to keep good head posture, most people tend to lean their heads to one side to try and see around the pole as it bends but if you keep your head in the neutral position it also helps keep you from veering off to the side.
@Swax6302 Don't let psychopaths design a sport. Breakaway supports and a pit that's actually wide enough to catch the vaulter on a miss are obviously needed, but for whatever reason, the sport refuses to fix these glaring problems.
tons of people vault indoors. Half of track and field is indoors. We creatively call this the 'indoor season'. My college is so far north for that matter that we generally practice indoors well into the outdoor season
