when you wind the coil on the toroid, it's pretty critical as to how evenly you distribute the layers isn't it? i've had several coils that haven't worked and several that have but on the same type of ferrite. same wire too. like, the type, i didn't reuse it :) thanks!
The sound is so funny, where does it come, from toroid:D?

what happens if you replaced the toroid with a very small flyback transformer?

@powermaks
I haven't tried it but you can use a flyback transformer.Or use the joule thief to run the flyback transformer.

how many amps, from the batterie ?
vik95170 2 years ago
With one 1.5v battery it was using 320 mA to get full brightness.
With two 1.5v batterys it was using 160mA.

Yes Jerronimo3000.
When I wound mine I didn't let the secondary coil over lap on to the primary coil eather.

Nice,
How long does it light on one AA?
kubikop 3 years ago
It should go five or more hours on full brightness.
I only had it running a few hours before I turned it off.
I'll have to let it run and see how long it goes on full power.

GBluer:
Excellent!!! Have you posted a schematic of your coil on OU? If you did, I must have missed it with all of the posts there. Thanks. Great work!

When I used one battery the light was brightest at fill power.
But when I used two batterys the light was brighter when it wasn't at full power.
So I could turn it down a little and still get good light.
But at full power the amp intake for one battery was around 320Ma.
For two batterys it was around 590Ma.

Men you ROCK!!!!
Nice developpements..
As i can understand;more voltage=less
amp draws????
Just a question? Do you have read about
UNIDIRECTIONAL WINDING??
I think it might do better..
I`ll dig more on this...
Thanks for SHARING men...
