This types of thing upsets me as a pilot who knows air law your breaking quite a few by doing this and then posting on youtube. Firstly when you see other aircraft you have an obligation to land immediately. Flying at night is a no no. Lastly to fly away from base to a point where you cant see the model anymore would require your aircraft be registered and you to be a pilot. You cause an accident and see what happens to you. Just saying. Restricted airspace and airlaw - quite a few laws.

If you were given permission then thsi could be NOTAMed to let pilot know what your up to in that area. Stops concerns from pilots, public and as you have now found out THE POLICE. Yes asking permission and getting notam for UAV work is essential. You cant see aircraft and react properly with this system. Also you wont show up on radar.

@jsullivan05 All airspace above the US is under FAA guidelines. Search for "UAV operations FAA" on google. Click the first link which is a fact sheet. It says "Recreational use of the NAS is covered by FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 91-57 which generally limits operations to below 400 feet above ground level and away from airports and air traffic."

this telemetry OSD is awesome! I was a UAV Operator/Instructor for 3 years on the Hunter and Pioneer UAV Systems and the overlay looks a lot like Pioneer telemetry...but not quite. I'm retried from the military now, so now I'm inspired to get back into R/C just so I can build my own UAV!

Check the VFR sectionals before flying R/Cs around in restricted airspace; entering a controlled or restricted surface area could get you in big trouble if you're not flying under FAA rules.
i have a dvd player with video out rca plugs and i cant get the fpv to come up on the dvd play. when its pluged in i can only hear what the fpv hears but cant see anything. it just stays in the dvd main screen...plzz help

Unless it was in an airport traffic pattern or in a place specifically listed as a "No Fly Zone" he was well within his rights to fly the plane. I think the police were just upset that they brought hte police helicopter out for a little foam airplane.

Max allowed altitude for recreational RC aircraft is 400 ft from what I've read. It shows your max altitude at 674 ft.

this telemetry OSD is awesome! I was a UAV Operator/Instructor for 3 years on the Hunter and Pioneer UAV Systems and the overlay looks a lot like Pioneer telemetry...but not quite. I'm retried from the military now, so now I'm inspired to get back into R/C just so I can build my own UAV!

AWESOME! I have been flying this stuff for awhile and I noticed when they really got on you your batts were getting low. Otherwise I sure would of screwed with them get on there ass etc.. nothing they can do about it! If its not a no fly. And as long as you do not head straight at them as to use the plane as a weapon. Screw those pigs.

Check the VFR sectionals before flying R/Cs around in restricted airspace; entering a controlled or restricted surface area could get you in big trouble if you're not flying under FAA rules.

i have a dvd player with video out rca plugs and i cant get the fpv to come up on the dvd play. when its pluged in i can only hear what the fpv hears but cant see anything. it just stays in the dvd main screen...plzz help

Unless it was in an airport traffic pattern or in a place specifically listed as a "No Fly Zone" he was well within his rights to fly the plane. I think the police were just upset that they brought hte police helicopter out for a little foam airplane.
