  • I thought I remembered Peter Gordeno actually winning the World Disco Dancing championships in around 1977 - or is my memory playing tricks on me, did he only represent Britain and not win?

  • absolutely brilliant. :)

  • the whistles are a nice tough

  • You can see the atmosphere here, it's fantastic!

  • Ok, does anyone know what the song is they are dancing to during the competition or was it a generic no name song made specifically for the show?

  • This is class, Peter Gordeno is a legend and a much better dancer than any of the contestants!

  • @bixy72 I agree..and sadly he passed away just a couple of years ago......

  • @discoreview

I know, I looked him up on Wikipedia a couple of months ago when i first discovered this brilliant clip. I was (and still am) as devastated as you mate...

  • @bixy72 others like to take one year to plan a dance with music to sell there brother's sister's or group's or gang's music, but those dancer's did not plan any thing to dance from the street's where all real dance and busting move's come from. they was sliver spoon fed the dancer's from the street's and dance hall's

  • this is so fugayzee

  • At the very very beginning when they are introducing the contestants, I wish we could see what they're doing with their feet.

  • That guy's mid-atlantic accent is appalling!

  • I'm going to pretend Roger Moore is the announcer.

  • i bet the most off puting thing 4 our dancers is.. they go to clubs and dance to records but here its live music which sounds compltlly different (and crap)

  • Fantastic Stuff, the Presenter by the Way is Peter Gordeno, he passed away in 2008, he was also in the TV Series UFO

  • The main song is "Haven't Stopped Dancin' Yet" by Gonzales... I had to scrounge for it, but I ended up finding 3 different great versions online!

  • were american disco songs popular in the uk as well?

  • WOW!!!!! These dancing shows were as chessey back then as they are now.

  • british telly used to be fucking amazing, that presenter is superb,as well as being a british tony manero ,disco battles man, alright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the welsh dancer, julie brown went on to be in crackerjack and then went to the states and was huge on mtv and hoseted "downtown with julie brown" and a couple of years ago was on i'm a celebrity get me out of here usa.she's married with a daughter living in the states and minted!! not bad, eh?

  • discomusic is the real house

  • hahahahahaha 2:30 number 7 didnt think that outfit out.

  • @tonymontana1974 How about the guy between numbers 1 and 5 at 2:32. He's got his too-tight jumpsuit zipped down to his waist with his gut hanging out and his hair looking like a helmet. He thought about his outfit a little too much and it's given us an unintended peek into his warped little libido.

  • @markz9783 mark - you must mean john davis....luv watchin this guy move....yeah!!
