  • @mixflip I believe it may have been a colt 1911 that kylewing34 has described. See this video /watch?v=RuNIZd0dwjs&feature=relmfu. If you look closely at the slide it actually says 1897.

  • Love - this - pistol.

  • my dad wants to get on of those (i hope he does!)

  • My favorite all time pistol in the world. My second favorite firearm ever.

  • that's my favorite pistol ever!!!!!!

  • Concurrent Resolution 331

  • ...

  • haha!!! general patton have a 1911 perlmutt white grip by crossing the rhine river 1945,greetings.

  • i may know someone with one it has no serial number wooden grip says patened 1897 it has a horse with 2 line things through it but absolutely no circle around it...it is model 1911 he would like to know if he needs to have any papers/registration for it and how much it is worth???

  • @kylewing34 1911 handguns are called 1911 because thats the year they were adopted. I dont think there were any 1911 in production back in 1897???

  • actually the m1911 has served your country for 100 years

  • @legopercyjacksonfan1 Actually the 1911 was replaced by the Beretta M9 in the mid 1980's as far as a standard issue handgun. I know because I qualified on a 1911 in boot camp in 1989 then was issued a Beretta M9 in 1990 when I got to my 1st Marine Corps unit. I know the MARSOC 1911 is still used but its only for special ops units, not regular issue. So I guess we are technically both correct lol.

  • @mixflip oh...well thanks for the information :D

  • @mixflip from what I hear, most guys that were in the service during the transition did not want to switch over....I've shot both, and I fully understand why...the 1911 is better is most ways...The only thing the beretta has on it is capacity....but how much that matters varies from person to person

  • the recoil of the colt is like me shooting a 22.ruger and when i shot the colt 1911 it was like somebody shooting a desert eagle

  • rather have the browning m1911

  • @MrDip02 Colt is better

  • @legopercyjacksonfan1 colt is the browning design browning sold colt the 1911 design so basically it's brownings gun colt is just the manufacturer

  • Man... colt has a sexy long ass barrel...o-o

  • I want a range like this in switzerland

  • @theroyalgrapefruit Us Americans wish we could take home our Army issued rifles like you guys get to do. I heard that Switzerland has the highest personal firearms ownership in Europe and coincidentally you also have the least amount of violent criminals? I guess this is a perfect example of how gun freedoms work. I'd love to visit Europe some day before I die.

  • @mixflip World wide Switzerland is the number 4 in Firearms per person but same time has one of the lowest amounts of criminals. England is the contrary where the violence takes over and its more difficult to get legal firearms. In switzerland EVERY man who is 20 Years old must go to die army when he is physicaly able to go. And not everybody is happy to go. And not EVERYBODY should have a full auto rifle at home, because bad things can happen.

  • @theroyalgrapefruit Well to be honest I agree. Not everyone should have a full auto machine gun at home. Idiots exist everywhere especially in America lol. What I envy is that you can buy or own a machine gun fairly easy compared to us Americans. I just saw an M16 in a gun store yesterday for $15,000 USD. Thats ridiculous. If you are mentally stable and have a clean criminal record we should not be restricted. We are the certified good guys. We need to restrict the criminal and mentally ill.

  • @mixflip so because i know a friend who is autistic he shouldn't have a gun. what a bunch of crap.

  • @USSWISCONSIN64 Did I say autistic people cant have guns? Gun ownership takes is a serious responsibility. Its not a joke or a game. One foolish decision can get you or someone else killed. There are lots of people who have a habit of making poor life decisions and I dont like the idea of any of them owning a gun. Thats my opinion and I have a right to my opinion. I guess you want blind people to be allowed to get their commercial pilots license too? Mentally ill+guns dont mix.

  • @mixflip true but it depends on how the person is to react to a gun.

  • @mixflip in ur own opinion how good and accurate is this pistol on a scale of 1- 15? i am thinking about getting one myself

  • @TheLargecars Wow I have never heard of the 1 to 15 scale lol. Usually its 1 to 10? Just teasing you bro. I'd have to rate the Colt at about a 8 or 9 (1 to 10 scale) as far as accuracy goes just because high quality 1911's like this one have a smooth crisp predictable 3 to 4 lb trigger break and a great grip angle. It also depends on the sights. The USGI WWII sights sucked but modern target sights are awesome. Sight radius also is important. Full sized 1911 have a long sight radius

  • @mixflip ok cool

  • "OH... that is a nice gun mike can I toutch it" "Shure, you know what else you can toutch"

  • @themostawesome333 Are you going through puberty? Oh wait. You are 13... the awkward years... never mind.

  • @KASYZ250 yes those are the biggest differents

oh sry i meant the shorter trigger LOL!!!

  • in call of duty:world at war,in the mission hard landing, you have a bar and a colt m1911 and the pistol shoots 8 bullets

  • @supahdick5 sorry but no one cares about your stupid and unrealistic video game.

  • what is the different between a colt m1911 and an original m1911

  • @supahdick5 Colt manufactured the 1911, so the "original" is the Colt, but not many say m1911 just 1911, BUT there is a different between the m1911 and m1911A1 the A1 have a longer trigger and a bulkier mainspring housing. Mrcolt45acp here a link to one of it!

    /watch?v=L3ISBh3eimc

  • I saw some guys do the same thing as you, right hand shooter but left eye targeting.

  • how many does the clip hold?

  • @mitchellnunez2012 I think the magazine holds about 7 rounds?

  • I wish my Colt Rail Gun had a series 70 slide...

  • @m14Lover308 yh fair point, but if your gonna say that id say that america's ak is the m16 not m4, agreed?? :)

  • it served America for 100 years now actually...

  • @D1sAsT1R Actually they stopped using the 1911 in the general military in 1986 and issued the Beretta M9 so that makes it short of 100 years. Now I know they still use the 1911 MEU-SOC with special operations capable Marines but they are not the general military. They are special ops that can pick and choose what they want to carry while a regular soldier/Marine cant choose so the regular guy gets issued a 9mm M9...not a 1911 sadly.

  • @mixflip the 1911 being replaced was a good example of stupid decision making up in the whitehouse, the 1911 is americas ak, they shouldnt have replaced it :(

  • @boogieairsoft It was strategic. Itally said if you guys want to setup missile in Italy you have to give Italy's GDP a huge boost by giving Beretta the next billion dollar firearms contract. Plus the military was already annoyed with NATA not carrying 45acp anywhere in the world so logistically going with a NATO 9mm just made sense to the bean counters. 1911's are awesome but their biggest weakness is the 8 round capacity. Thats probably why 45's by Glock & Sig are so popular. More bullets?

  • @mixflip haha i knew none of that :L but thanks for the facts, and yh the 8 rounds kinda suck, although i think that if your packing 9mm then you should go with the p228 of the p99, they have a better feel but yh i guess your right , and also have your shot the makarov pistol???

  • @boogieairsoft Makarov? Not yet but I'd love to some day. I always hear good things.

  • @mixflip its nice, really heavy for a small gun, a quite a strong kick but its pretty accurate :)

  • @boogieairsoft FYI, the GI frame 1911 is not a small gun. Its a full sized gun.

  • @mixflip yh the 1911 is big,i meant the makarov

  • @boogieairsoft Oooops sorry about that. I have been misunderstanding people alot lately? lol.

  • Looks beautiful. Always wanted to shoot one. Someday I'm goon to own one, nice vid

  • Are those adjustable sights on the rear? Nice video, very clean looking. :)

  • put a slip of cellotape on your mic to get rid of the wind noises.

  • very very nice lookin firearm

  • Ah yes, big bore lead downrange on a sunny day!

  • man!!! are there any men that don't love a good 1911? DONT THINK SO!!! great vid!!!!.

  • Cool, I love 1911s, haha. Interesting sights on that thing though. Had to have been installed after the fact?

  • @TheOl1911 Yeah I dont know why he had them blacked out? I was thinking maybe the white dot had fallen out maybe? I didnt ask. The dot fell out of my front sight on my M&P40 so maybe thats what happened Mikes 1911?

  • nice
