Wow, i bet you've never been inside a boys and girls club. Yes they have spent a lot on travel. When Roxanne Spillet started with the clubs there were on ly about 1200 in the US. Now after 16 years there are over 4300 clubs world wide. Do your homework first before you try to slander an organization because they don't want to use your idea. There is no way that the BGC can help with the entire drop out rate because of not all students are BGC memberes.
@illery42 BGCA has over $200 million in investments. It isn’t clear why BGCA is sitting on the investments when over 1,000 of their local clubs have closed since 1996. (Their CEO made $981,984 in 2008.) The problem is that the assessment used the revenue from all of the individual clubs’ combined revenues ($1.5 billion) to justify these salaries, when BGCA itself only has revenues of $187 million.
BGCA has spent nearly $3 million in lobbying over the past five years, which is troubling.
Very well said. I hope your video did some good and hopefully exposed these crooks for who they really are.
Money changes people......it becomes their obsession. Forget about the kids, money is what really matters and they never have enough. That's their motivation....not the kids. Seems as though this is what's happened here..........sad!
