This has to be one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard! His own compositions are AMAZING, His arrangements and technique are perfect and creative. But this is one of the best things he ever did I think. Live or studio, this performance is THE thing. The beautiful melodious stuff, the calmness, the perfect smooth improvisations, the power. It's perfect! Absolutely STUNNING!

Re the tuning - it's standard but every string is a tone and a half down so the E string becomes C# etc (I think)

Anyone know why he has two leads from the guitar? One from the pick-up perhaps and the other a direct line to God cause God is the only other being who could possibly remotely play like Tommy?

@100manband 1 lead is for the pickup in the bridge, and one lead is for the mic inside the guitar.

@100manband He has 2 pickups, a saddle and a soundhole pickup. He does a lot of percussive sounds on the soundboard so it makes sense for him to have it under the saddle.

@100manband the other jack that comes out of the strap button at the end of his guitar is a sensor that is placed on the inside face of the guitar...it picks up percussion and sounds like a microphone. He has this because the other jack is for the original maton preamp which is not as sensitive to that kind of stuff.

he has two pickups, one for the body and then another pickup which is specially designed just for him, which is, how he explained it, a pad which is attached to the front of the body behind the large raw spot that you can see on the front of the guitar which allows him to pick up the sounds and noises he makes in songs like mombasa.
