The Cielo e mar on this [what there is of it] is actually better - to my ear- than the ones on either the album or the dvd, though they are both very exciting versions.
I was looking at a video of him from 1972, and he was very nearly bald on top, and seemed happy enough for the world to see him that way: no hat , no hair piece.
But later he must have become self-concious about it, or else was advised by his PR people to wear one, because every so often after that, he would have a full head of hair for interviews.
I agree absolutely - his goodness shines through. What a wonderful gift he was to the world - not only for his amazingly beautiful voice but for his other fine qualities also. Did he ever realise just how much he was loved, I wonder?. I doubt it. We only have to read the comments on sites featuring him to fully appreciate the joy he brought to our world and what an inspiration he was to people. A beautiful voice and a beautiful spirit - a rare and wonderful man indeed!
luciano pavarotti had a wonderful face, a beautiful eyes, beautiful gaze, amazing smile, all his face was beautiful and sweet and transparent. he was such good person. you can't mistake with that fact.
Yes Luciano Pavarotti was very special man. sometimes is unbelievable for me to think that such man and tenor was exists, such beauty and charm in one man.

Pavarotti gets it wrong; it was Chicago where they'd last sung it in 1975. The London Lucias were two years before the ones in Chicago.

And always, those mad wigs for stage roles.
