  • If you have two mono tracks panned one to L and the other to the R, will it be indistinguishable from just a regular stereo track?

  • but are u sure 2 mono tracks panned to L and R are the exact same as a stereo track? I just wanna get this straigh befor i go ahead and record to mono tracks that later on i cannot put as far in the left and right speakers as possible

  • Hi mate.

I have been working this way for 9 years now.

I only record voice in mono.

Everything else is in stereo.. so music and SFX are all originally in stereo, but when i drag them into pro-tools, i spread them across the 2 mono tracks and pan them so i have more flexability in my editing.

    Hope this helps

  • haha yes, this has helped you are very good at this, and very fast and knowing were everything is at. For the panneing with the top mono track, how did u get the black line to move freely instead of it like snapping into place?

  • um.. im not sure to be honest!! it just works that way.

maybe ther is some sort of setting that can be turned on or off.

    Can anyone else help?

  • @theprodguy Hm. If you pan mono tracks to right and left, then when you bounce the track, it will appear in the middle? Thats what it does with me. If I copy the track in 2 stereo and pan them out, then it will be that way when I bounce.

  • Very good as always! =)
