you can tell he favors the higher strings because the intonation and phrasing is so slightly better. Other than that, an awesome vid. It would be cool to do a similar version with viola pomposa (5 string viola) and violoncello picolo (5-string mini cello).

How did you did it for making the sound as if it was a lot of violins? was it the distorsion? of you put some music and at the same time you were playing the song.

It's called a loopstation. Notice the button he keeps pushing with his foot? Every time he pushes that the pedal replays the the last section that he played in conjunction with all others before it. So by the end of the vid he has recorded several loops which keep playing under him as he adds more and more layers to the song.
