Lord Richard Attenborough was just brilliant in this. Others may know him better as John Hammond, the silver-haired developer of Jurassic Park. He is also David Attenborough's older brother.
Just wondering. Does anyone else have the youtube problem where you fullscreen the video, the audio keeps playing but the video freezes, then you press escape to minimize the vid and the video window turns into a plain black screen with the audio still running? It's ruining my day guys! Help! Running on windows 7. No insults against windows please, that doesn't help anyone.
i am getting a tattoo of the push me pull you in the yellow and red ''outfit'' with '' Your never seen anything like it n your life!'' Under it, my nana brought me into the world of musicals and creativity and arts and everything from when i was born just abouts.. and i lost her almost 10 years ago, now the arts are a staple in my life and so this would mean the world to me :) x
most favorite movie when I was a kid, right next to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I saw Dick Van Dyke on The Late Late Show With Craig Fergison, he's gotten so old but he's still just as funny :D I want this movie on dvd so bad
@biografmand Why no luck at the box office? Because it was a fantasy film, and late 60's movies were all about realism and grittiness. The days of Mary Poppins were over.
Thankfully fantasy films are back in vogue again - even if they lack the charm of this treasure, and they make things like Percy Jackson.

this is a fantastic song. i know it word for word since i first saw it when i was a child. so many people i know have never seen it, i always reccomend it, cos ive never seen anything like it in my life.
Richard Attenborough, the famous film director, is absolutely charming as Mr. Blossom in this song, and should have won an Oscar for his scintillating interpretation. Terrifically buoyant and delightful! And the song is great too.
Although, he only has the one scene ad number, Lord Attenborough DID win the Golden Globe for this. It was his second consecutive one. He won the previous year for The Sand Pebbles. Ironically he was not nominated for an Oscar for either role. Indeed, he has never been nominated for an acting Oscar. He won his Oscar for directing.
Maybe it's part anorexic, or something? One head eats and the other throws it back up? Even if it doesn't make sense, I still say the two-guys-one-costume version looks much better than the computor graphics one in the *ugh* new Dr. Dolittle. Pathetic, that movie is.
I guess that is one theory. Since my comment I have seen this movie again. Brought back a lot of memories. The one creature I always remembered was the giant sea snail of course. I have to say, it wasn't as impressive as I remember as a kid but still very cool for the time. My daughter now discovering it. I agree that remakes of classic movies usually are not very good.
@MegaVesper04 It bum is on its stomach, but it doesn't pee, the push me pull you only drinks melted biscuits and everyone knows melted biscuits cannot be turned into pee
Sure, it's pretty obvious that it's two guys in a suit, but the pushmepullyou still looks much more life like than the computer generated one in the new Eddie Murphy film.
Love it! always puts me in a good mood!

To me there has been and will always be just one Dr. Dolittle. Rex Harron was great actor.

Did you notice that all the signs are in mirror image; as if we're looking at the video from the wrong side of the film.

@whk421 it's probably to keep it from being pulled- a lot of vids on youtube are mirrored so that they don't show up as copyrighted.
