  • I remember Cosmos when I was a kid. It was a tv programme about astronomy on prime time TV here in the UK. There's not been one since. It's all crap tv these days.

  • Carl Sagan is one of the atheis i would acutually hang with :)

  • this man always makes me cry and applause at the end of his videos like an old woman (im a young man)

  • Well, this reminds me of a Quote from Albert Einstein "Never Underestimate Stupidity" !

  • All I can do is Laugh ! Who is Stupid enough to rate this video with a THUMBS DOWN !

  • @k9a2g6 I've seen stupider people out there. And they do exist. Unfortunately. Should do a documentary on them: where they are, what they do, how often the reproduce etc. What groups would I find the stupidest people in and I'm omitting people with mental disorders like autism and down syndrome : Teabaggers, televangelist viewers (the ones producing the shows are the cleaver snakes), large groups of people in the following states: Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, and what others?

  • You are missed Carl, we need you more than ever now

  • مات كارل ساغان لكن كتاباته وافكاره ومساهماته العلمية لم ولن تموت وستحيا الى الابد الى الخلود ايها المعلم العظيم

  • @ru7170

    Thanks brother!

  • "Billions upon Billions"

  • 1:38

    To Mr. Sagan,

I'm sorry you couldn't see Cassini reach Saturn before you passed away in 1996.

Cassini successfully entered Saturn's orbit in 2004, and the Huygens probe landed safely on Titan in 2005. The probes gave us tons of new knowledge about Saturn and it's moons.

  • The two Voyagers were amazing accomplishments! Makes me proud to be a human being. This is the type of information we should be hearing about in the news, not who was killed in a car accident or what a celebrity wore in court.

  • @dfortae yeah man

  • Carl Sagan rules! And so do both Voyagers.

  • i dont think i have ever seen a man this passionate about a field of study then Carl Sagan. In his life he has inspiried many people to look at a bigger picture using only his logic. I really wished he had lived long enough to see the cassini mission complete. It troubles me today though that he died not knowing where the direction of humanity is going. Something that I cant even tell to this day.

  • He would have marveled with the 500 or so planest we have discover outside of our solar system.

  • There's not enough Carl Sagan on YouTube

  • @hyperseauton get lost you loser TROLL. Errrrrrrr!

  • Voyager 1 & 2 are still today sending back information thou it takes many months to reach us as they are now beyond this universe travelling somewhere around at 68 to 70,000MPH that’s fast and only 33 years away from the Earth or maybe the Earth is several hundred years older compared to Voyagers time?

You can get the latest scoop on Voyager at the NASA JPL site.

  • What really pisses me off is the pathetic TROLLS on this video channel. How can you tell their TROLLS look at their profiles hardly a decent background no videos to their name just videos marked as favourite and this is the classic example of a Youtube TROLL! That goes straight to block list because I have no time for wasters!

  • I suspect Titan will be a new earth with life in a habitable zone like earth is now millions of years from now when the sun begins the swell in size..

  • 1:40 to bad he didn't live to see it :(

  • How can you dislike this video.....

  • @hyperseauton Nice trolling attempt. Especially the part about Cheney > Sagan. For a moment you almost had me thinking you were serious. You should consider a career in stand-up comedy. XD

  • I wished Carl Sagan would have been alive long enough to see the Cassini mission.

  • Human beings are a Stupid and Violent species.

  • CARL SAGAN is the wise man of all time.

    Carl lives on.

HE IS AN INSPIRATION FOR ALL OF US.

  • I wonder if the Voyagers still are returning data. It's been 32 or so years!

  • @marasu66

Yes, the Voyagers are still sending back data. We communicate with them daily.

  • They are! They are expected to send information untill around 2025. At that time all the energy will be used up and the spacecraft will be lifeless blocks of metal, flying for eternity through the emptyness of interstellar space..

  • @muffigw Aren't they solar powered?

  • @zzzIdividedbyzerozzz No, the electric power is supplied via a 315W RTG power generator which derives it's energy from a Uranium *235(?)* source.

  • even though carl sagen is dead we all know that the satellites and the golden discs in them will someday find our creations in them

  • Carl Sagan 4 Life.

  • Carl Segan dies...

    kent hovind lives...

    there is no god

  • ehmm, he may keep kent alive just so he could be assraep'd daily in his prison cell ...

  • It is sad that dr.sagan couldnt make it till huygens land on titan. But we wont make it too, to much more cooler things :P

  • How sad Fred gets millions of views but people who actually accomplish something get neglected. :'(

  • this video should have a million views..

  • @happyface3457 About 6 billion would be nice, too. I agree with you.

  • @happyface3457 I think this video should have billions upon billions of views

  • @Shun101010

well said. haha i love re-watching this video ...even two years later :)

  • @happyface3457 A million views? This video should have billions and billions of views. :p

  • @Herv3 Fun fact: billions and billions did become a unit of measurement after his death, they called it a sagan. It is 4+ billions since "billions and billions" has to be at least that much :)

  • This video makes me really sad that Carl Sagan is dead.

  • @GoldenDynamo he is

  • @GoldenDynamo Why? He didn't make the planets or Jupiter's moons, he is just compiling pictures that a camera on voyager took, it's not like he created them. Also, I think that the background music can really stir emotional fuzziness in naive and gullible minds. Everyone seems to look at Sagan as if he did anything other than just present celestial bodies as any astronomer does. He was a good astronomer, and teacher, but that was all!

  • Wow
